I looked at Butler's schedule (i.e. their results from this year) and thought they were trash because of it

clearly did not pan out

I am thoroughly unimpressed with West Virginia. They might win, but damn.

Funny you should say that, because I was about to post something about Carter. His D is really legit. He's going to bother NBA players with his pesky activity, a la Pat Beverley. Tough, tough kid.

There's a channel showing some March Madness games here. Man, Jevon Carter looks like 30 years old...

Texas holding on to to a 2-point lead with about 2:30 to play. Bamba has 4 fouls. He's looked a little iffy when defending a guy 1-on-1 in the post. Looks like he can get faked out easily. I'm guessing Nevada goes right at him the next time they have the ball.

I have not been impressed with Bamba....we played Texas twice this season...the game he played in we won by 35 points....the game he did not play, we won by 8 points. All we had to do was navigate his length, but his defensive instincts are not great, and his offensive game is limited at best.

Bamba has a very rudimentary game, and obviously he can alter shots on D, but he isn't a very smart defender, and perhaps he'll get better with that with more experience. But right now, he's kind of Dwight-like with how he can get faked and how he doesn't go vertically straight up at times when he could simply use his length and go straight up and that would be good enough. And instead, he takes bad angles with his body position and fouls.

As for Shaka, calling your final timeout with 3.8 seconds left in regulation, without the ball, was a very dubious decision. It might also behoove him to recruit some players that can actually make free throws.

The only miss that will hurt me in the future is the Shockers, and I only had then winning one more game.

Hopefully no one has had to watch this monstrosity of a game between Auburn and Charleston, and I don't say that in a good way. It's genuinely one of the worst basketball games I have ever seen, at any level. It's 40-33 Auburn, with 11:39 to go in the 2nd half.

Charleston is shooting 37.8%, including 18.8% from 3. They are 2-4 from the foul line. Oh, and they have 17 turnovers.

Auburn is shooting 30.4%, including 11.1% from 3, and are 10-19 from the foul line. And they are up 7.

Charleston gave it away. Absolutely brutal. They finished with 21 turnovers, 7-14 from the foul line, including 2-6 in the clutch. And all 6 of those FT attempts were by strong FT shooters.

Oh, and the ref missed a shooting foul on a potentially tying 3-pointer from Charleston. Dude got hit on the arm, the shot fell a foot short, and no call.

College basketball, folks. Bad play combined with bad officiating. Gotta love it.
