With whitesides recent comments I’m starting to see a trend...

Stars lakers have actively pursued and “been in the running for” are all having some serious turmoil or bad seasons since denying the lake show.

-Aldridge- Pretty much embarrassed the Lakers FO. Now was unhappy in San Antonio, conflict with coaches etc... almost missing the playoffs.

-Whiteside- Lakers we’re supposed to be front runners for him.. elected to stay in Miami... now he wants out.

-Melo- Lakers wanted to offer him a max deal. Lakers dodged a bulleit as he has faded into mediocrity and an underperforming thunder team.

-Westbrook- Lakers we’re ready to pay to bring him home. Stayed in OKC and is just spinning his wheels. Once PG leaves he is stuck.

Don’t diss the PURPLE AND GOLD.

We might add PG and LBJ to the list if we lose out on them.

I recognize the absurdity of this thread. That being said, star players who are averted from the Lakers have gone on to see little/diminished success on the team they immediately chose.

EX:
Dwight Howard on Rockets
Chris Paul on Clippers
Charles Barkley on Suns
Lamar Odom on Mavericks
Pau Gasol on Spurs
Shaq/Garnett on Heat/Celtics (arguable since they both won a single championship, but they should have conceivably won more alongside Kobe.)

The takeaway? Don't be a fool Paul George.

He didn't say he wants out, he just said he should be getting more minutes. He said Spo shouldn't be trying to match up with other centers, but should make other teams try to match up with him. That's the gist of it, but he threw in a few expletives to make his point.

Saw what you did there.

I don't think there will be a Lakers curse unless it happens to multiple significant players. For the record, I'm not including Russ in this equation. The guy is phenomenal and is sticking to his guns. Nothing but respect for him.

Besides, all those players listed could have easily stunk it up here, or been just as unhappy under our current process.

Looking forward to this off-season.

Yep. its on them to decide. to be cursed or not to be cursed. that is the question.

Almost missing the playoffs equals making the playoffs. So a player’s team making the playoffs is a curse?

it depends on how good their team is on paper. if you barely make the playoffs and you have a team full of star players. thats a curse. put that in the file for superstar curses.

Good thing Mosgov and Deng didn't spurn the Lakers. Imagine the curse they'd be under if they signed somewhere else.

Well OKC doesn’t have a team full of star players
