All three of them with double-doubles. Couple really nice drives by Julius, combining the speed, power and handles. Lonzo was able to get into the midrange and not settle for threes exclusively. Kuzma needed to be a little more selective in shots. Overall team faded in the second half.
Post your thoughts here. |
Sorry about your back and neck, DB. Hope it gets better soon. |

Ingram, Hart, Thomas and now DB. That's tough...
Should you be considered day-to-day?

Sorry to hear about the back and neck DB! I hope it wasn't that dirty bastard Winslow again!
Seriously, hope you feel better soon.
As for the game, no way a healthy roster would have went down to the Pistons. We'd be upper 30's for wins right now had Ingram not gone down and had Hart not broke his hand in practice.
Silver lining - Lonzo Ball started figuring out what to do when the 3 ball isn't falling and the defense cheats like crazy off him. That'll pay some dividends if he never forgets this part of his game.
Next for Lonzo: find a real shooting coach and fix that sidewinder screwball shot so it's consistent. Or a mental coach, whatever it takes. |

|
I thought once he picked up that foul trouble his D disappeared. And, of course, when he tried to finesse a charge on D that didn't go his way, either, lol.

Ennis was horrible, as per usual. He had some moments hitting some shots, but I hate hate hate when he decides to call his own number inexplicably and bricks the shot or layup.

I'm never more leery of a player working off the dribble than him.

But the worst was KCP who clearly came out looking to prove a point to his old team who let him walk and didn’t max him out. After doing a great job for a while of taking good looks and not trying to do too much, he came out like an idiot today and jacked some horrible shots.
|
I think this was a bit on the coaching. They were clearly looking to get him going first. First couple of plays were set up for him. That seemed to set the tone and KCP ran with it.

The most encouraging was Zo who, in addition to his work on the boards and stellar play making, did a great job finding offense beyond threes. He got into the paint and mid range and took shots available to him and made them. He’s shown that occasionally in games earlier in the season, but I’m pretty sure this was the most we’ve seen him do in a single game so far in his career. Very encouraging, and I hope Zo can build on this as we end the season. |
Expected he would stuggle a bit with the midrange or being aggressive in the paint this season. Glad to see the flashes here and there that will get consistent with reps. Really, only thing I'm disappointed with from him this season is the FT shooting for a variety of reasons. |

Yeah, I pushed it at my day job yesterday and decided not to push my luck further with some couch typing for a few hours. |
