I suspect this is going to spark a debate on what actually constitutes a mass shooting.
Does this really count? I believe the stat to which you are referring requires 4 or more shot NOT including the shooter. |
That quote was from earlier on when media was reporting was that more than 4 people were injured, and before it was determined to be basically a domestic incident spilled over into the workplace.
So subtract one -- 57 mass shootings is still horrific. |
Agreed. I’m just saying I think we will see a lot of discussion around what is and isn’t a mass shooting. I’ve seen the term used in referenc to this incident quite a bit in the media but it is hard to tell if they are just misusing it or mischaracterizing it.
Anyone seen if they shared what, if any, security measures Youtube had at their Hq? I’d imagine it to be somewhat light. |

Why? They have every resource available to them to take security measures. They are a tech company, headquartered in the world's tech hub. They provide a platform for the craziest people on earth looking for fame. |

I dunno. I’ve worked for a few tech companies in the Bay in the past. None of them had metal detectors nor armed security at their campus.
Just wondering if Youtube might have been different. |

Google HQ has neither but you do need a badge to get into the building. I wager the same is true at Youtube HQ. _________________ https://j.gifs.com/Rnqnbk.gif |

There was also a clip from somewhere in the Middle East of a guy shooting what appeared to be an M249 SAW (maybe one of our own weapons looted by ISIS) and he lost control at the end and shot a youngster in the head. It's generally not good when we rate well against the 3rd World in anything, much less in heinous disregard for gun safety and in volume of firearms per capita. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL |

Not really terribly germane, but there was a poor bastard in Houston a few days ago who got shot in the head by some moronic woman who thought it funny to chamber a Glock and pull the trigger at his head whilst they were sitting in an SUV at a gas station at 2AM. To quote the inimitable Dr. KBCB, "Nothin good happens after midnight". Guy's last words were, "You're making me nervous (with that deadly weapon)," and she responded with the standard [it's not even loaded, look -- BLAM!] declaration of gun idiocy (similar to Jayson William's declaration). She tried to scatter once she heard the guy's last moan and blood gushing down his shoulder. Vid's on liveleak (aptly named in this situation) if you wanna get your gore on, but just another example of upstanding militia members upholding their 2nd Amendment rights in Murica. |
WARNING Very graphic. Blood included. If you're squeamish don't click on the link NSFW |

I'm just worried Logan Paul will feel upstaged.
He might dig up a dead person to win back his crown as most horrible thing associated with youtube. _________________ "The fundamental cause of trouble in the world today is that the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt" - Bertrand Russell |

Her videos seem to make her look crazy, and if she believed that people were going to pay to watch her slither around like that, well that just confirms it! _________________ BRING ON THE DANCING HORSES...! |

This is the biggest load of huey I've seen in a while. I am a chef and cook for people for a living. I cook for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and people who choose all sorts of non-traditional diets, whether for health reasons or other reasons. People are people. Their diets don't make them crazy or not crazy.
Clearly this woman was a nutjob. If you take any belief to an extreme it can be dangerous. The fact that her particular obsession seemed to be veganism/animal cruelty doesn't mean it caused her actions.
What if I said that 99% of all mass murders in the U.S. were committed by white males who were meat eaters? That would probably be accurate. But it wouldn't mean that eating meat caused people to become violent and commit mass murder.
And in that Christina Pirello article you linked to (she's a famous vegan chef), the title of the article was, "Vegan Diet: Why does it make people so angry?" The question she is asking is not "why does a vegan diet cause one to be angry" she was asking, "Why do people get so angry when they find out someone else is on a vegan diet?"
See the difference?
