|

Over the Course of Two Days, Each team the Lakers and Rockets have suffered embarassing losses. Both teams are in need of deals that can help them either for the future or for the long haul. The Rockets spent significant but not big money on free agents that they dont love. What they need to do is start over and try again next season. The Lakers have expiring contracts and picks that the Rockets could have interest in.
Heres the Deal:
La Lakers Trade Devean George, Slava Medvedenko, Miami 06 First Round Pick and Bobcats 2nd Round Pick in 08 to Houston Rockets for Stromile Swift and Derek Anderson.
The Rockets add a player in Devean George that has a more consistant outside shot than Anderson and has shown a willingness to atleast attempt to play defense. He also allows the Rockets to make TMac a 2guard again. If given starter minutes devean has shown he can score fifteen in atleast every other game. Rockets also get rid of a contract in Swift, a guy that has had trouble adapting to the rockets half court offense and getting out of Jeff Van Gundy's dog house.
The Lakers add two players that can help them this season without. MAJORLY jeopardizing their cap space aspirations. Swift is Kenyon Martin type player making less than half the dough. He finishes around the rim like no other and is a solid weakside shot blocker. (He should have been given Kwames money) Anderson is a veteran guard that knows how to play with superstars and has a propensity for scoring on certain nights.
Roster
Chris Mihm/Kwame Brown/Andrew Bynum
Stromile Swift/Brian Cook/Ronny Turiaf
Lamar Odom/Luke Walton/Devin Green
Kobe Bryant/Sasha Vujacic/Von Wafer/Aaron Mckie
Smush Parker/Derek Anderson
Not a deal that would put us over the top. But a deal that can help us grow as a team and have a better chance of competing in the next two or 3 years as we wait for our meal ticket. Only question is do the Rockets pull the trigger on this deal. |

Rockets don't need the space.
Rockets want to make the playoffs and be a top team. They have a lottery pick coming up and want Yao to get better and be better facilitated.
I don't see them making small moves to cut salary. |

what do you mean were not majorly jeopardizing our cap space? Stro's contract runs through 07/08.
I dont want Stro. Hes nothing but Kwame Brown with a little more hops. _________________ Pain is temporary, at the end of pain is success... |
