Luke Walton Planning For Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball To Sit Out Remainder Of Season

Quote:
Walton’s approach of getting his team prepared to roll with what they have is probably the correct mindset to have since they can’t count on getting Ingram or Ball back. But it also doesn’t mean both players will miss the rest of the season, either.

For Ball OK I get it. He is injured.
But for BI? If he is clear from this protocol why he is not playing? Really strange decision. I do not like it at all. Guys are still developing every game counts for the experience in the future.

He isn't cleared yet. He has only cleared step 1.

Pretty funny that Deng is out until at least 4 days after the season ends.

I think they forgot to put the complete date on that: Apr 15, 2020

I'm find with the lakers being cautious I don't think an extra win or so is going to make a huge difference if there is even a slight injury concern, but if they are cleared they should play....the more actual game experience they get putting principles in place the better.

In any case the Lakers have shown me enough to be very optimistic about the future, and it's been a while for me on that front.

Great if they can beast it against MN

Is it petty that I'm rooting more for the Lakers to win (this game only before the people come at me with the whole "true fan" argument) this game more because it potentially knocks Minnesota out of the playoffs, even if only temporarily? lol

They were making all this noise about their playoff drought and how its a lock that they're gonna make the playoffs.. They were a little overhyped imo at the beginning of the season

This game is huge for the wolves. Boy do I wish we had Lonzo and BI, it's fun playing the spoiler.

Wouldn't mind if MIN wins this game. According to GT, they have to finish 2-1 or better to get OKC the heck out of there.

I think letting Zo and Ingram sit is a long play to hook Kawhi... It's saying "Look, if you come to the Lakers, you can sit out large chunks of the season with even minor injuries"

Then, as soon as they sign the two elites... Luke puts the hammer down.

Houston and Utah are both fighting for their playoff lives right now. I expect this is gonna be a tough one.

SO GLAD Hart's back. In BI's absence he makes a huge difference. Kuz is a player we've leaned on heavily and he's responding well. I'm kinda glad Walton sat Randle so much in the win against San Antonio. We leaned on him way to heavily last month. Hopefully he's been able to recharge a little these last few days.

Minny's getting Butler back on restricted minutes? Let's just see how 'restricted' those minutes are if this game is close.

I for one would get a much bigger kick out of seeing OKC bounced from the playoffs than Minnesota, same applies for Utah versus OKC, but I'd rather see a Laker win regardless of the playoff implications.

I am rooting for the Lakers to win this game because I am a Laker fan and cheer for them to win every game.

Butler is playing tonight it seems. Smart move to sit him against Denver at altitude if you are only playing him in one of the back-to-back games.

Kuz is going to get huge minutes again. I'd like to see him go for 40!
