Na I don't think Ingram was high. Who would go into a meeting with the big heads high? You'd be taking a chance on being traded.

Me too but he gotta learn how to block shots. Sometimes it just looks like a practice drill when the other teams PG's go up for a layup and he's just standing there with his hands up.

He was in the top 15 in blocks this season though. He was top 10 last year (tied with DeAndre Jordan) but he played more minutes.

It’s a meaningless comment. He made $22.6 million this year, and no one will pay him that much now, so whether he stays or goes he’s taking a paycut.

The real question is if another team offers him more would he take less here? And the answer will depend on who the other team is and how much more they're offering

I mean, he could have said "That's something between me & my agent" or "I don't talk about my finances with the press" (which he is certainly entitled to decline comment on that). Or he could've even been more forthright and said "I think I still have a lot to give and expect to be compensated for it".

It's not completely meaningless.

Even players can’t hide the excitement the team will have if we get great players this summer, they know those great players will take us to the next level... can’t wait to see who we bring in.

Ingram said Kuzma talks about what they can become in the future the most, I got that sense from what he says too.

Kuzma is gonna be a vital leader for this team

also they asked Ingram about how many people got to take the end of the game shots and what he envisioned going forward. He alluded to whoever being hot but then he was pretty straight forward about wanting those moments. BI's gonna be our closer IMO

He's already made more than 120 million during his career. He's from LA, dude is legitimately excited to be a Laker. I don't think it's meaningless.

If you are talking about room exception, it's way under his market value.

I liked Brook Lopez's interview best, not because of the answer to the 'paycut' question that's been bandied about here, but because he was the most vocal about how good this team really is.

He made it very clear that, when healthy, this team could compete with anyone. He's experienced a lot of futility in his career, and he seemed to appreciate the core this team is developing at least as much as Randle, Ingram, Hart, Lonzo and Kuz themselves. He certainly seemed more willing than most to say free agents should be excited about playing alongside this young core.

Yeah, he could have said "it's up to my agent and Laker management." But he didn't. He talked like a player who could really appreciate where this team is heading.

The other takeaway I got from these exit conferences so far is that Lonzo, Julius, Brandon, Josh, Kuz, they don't exactly appear to embrace the idea of some max free agent coming in here. I get the feeling they believe they already have what it's going to take to win titles some day.

Is Deng holding an exit meeting or did that happen in the preseason?

Not sure if you're being facetious, but Tania tweeted out that Deng will not be having one (she mentioned this while saying KCP and Channing already had theirs at the Clipper game)

I feel sorry for Deng. His complete lack of any role on this team must really suck for him.

I mean, how bad is this guy really? Is he completely incapable of adding anything of any value to our team?

They are doing him dirty. But it started with Mitch and Jim and Luke. Rob & Magic are just continuing it. At least he's getting paid well. They are probably hoping for him to cave and take a significant buy out.
