Okay season one is done for Hart and Bryant. I’m curious if on draft night 2018 the Nets offered DLO for those two if you take it. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please

Hart will have more value of his remaining 3 years at his salary then DLo for 1 more season. Quite frankly Hart has shown more ability to be a starting 2 guard in this league than DLo. The defensive issues are still glaring by most accounts.
DLo seems destined to be a 6th man offense only guy off the bench. |

Compared to the meltdown that I admit, I may have agreed with even with the salary savings... it’s amazing this is now a legitimate question. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please

People are underestimating the value of Hart. He is starter in this league easily. DLO is injury prone immature player with lots of potential. |

I'll give D'Lo a pass for his crappy season because he had injuries and played for a trash team, but what he showed this season was not very encouraging : shoot a lot with crappy efficiency. He's still only 22 but he has a lot of work to do, and his health is a serious concern : 63 games last season, 47 this and already several knee injuries. Doesn't sound good for him.
For this team I'll take Hart.

I'd trade them for sophomore DLO, but even with limited minutes and injures I feel like DLO was mad underwhelming this season. |

This thread should be an interesting Rorschach test. Some recency bias should be at play here, would be my assumption. _________________ LakersGround's Terms of Service

F NO!
I wouldn't trade Hart for him straight up.
Not sure I would trade Bryant for him straight up, not really sure on that one. _________________ Never argue with stupid people! They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience!! - Twain |

Pass.
You need two-way players who play defense.
That's one of the reasons why I was disappointed with DLo during his Laker stint. It's also why I didn't want Oakafor. What a sad couple of picks in that draft. Ouch.
Love Hart's D, rebounding, toughness and smart shot selection. He's a big time keeper.
Bryant has potential, so we'll see where he goes with it.
With Hart vs DLo alone, the deal was worth making. Throw in what Brook has given us playing next to JR and the cap savings from dumping Moz and that deal was a huge win. I liked it at the time and like it even more now. |

come on man lol
even not trading him straight up for Hart sounds ridiculous for any other team but ours, I just think Hart fits everything we're trying to do for the future.
but lol |

So we still have the cap space and Nets offer DLo for Hart/Bryant
Great question!
This is essentially what DLo was flipped for, Hart/Bryant (since Lopez and Mozgov is a wash ) and no, Dlo wasn't traded for Kuzma...
Bout the same age-ish, Hart one hell of a defender that can cover big temporarily on switches. Can shoot 3s, decent offense and he's a LAKERS!!!
Bryant at this point is expendable
I still think DLo has higher upside (although I had expected him to hit his 3s closer to 40% and defense improving by now), so reluctantly, I would do the trade

Love looking back at trades. I must be a masochist.
I was against the trade, I actually got sick to my stomach when it happened. Now that the season is over, I am convinced, it was the right move and I was dead wrong.
Three reasons why this was a good move.
#1 - D'Lo in his third season has not progressed like I thought he would, and actually, I think he has digressed. Weather that's due to his knee injury or new team, it doesn't really matter. He is becoming what he is, a chucker with limitations at D, never mind the personality disorders.
#2 - Hart has acceded all my expectations. Very smart, capable shooter, finisher, terrific defender excels at rebounding and all that without the personality disorder. Essential he is most everything DLo is not. On top of all that, he is a rookie, i.e. he will get even better.
#3 - Salary dump and ability to get a MAX guy. I hope it happens but even if it doesn't happen, this year, the Lakers have future flexibility and Hart is a better all around player.
If Bryant becomes a capable option than add four reasons why this trade was a good move. |

Lol hell to the NO all day long 24-7 everyday including the holidays. DLo is more talented individually but he’s aint that type of player you can build your team around. He’s more of a complimentary player but in that role , I would rather have Hart. Hart is a winning type of player who does all those little things and bring those intangibles and play tough defense that DLo can only imagine of. I’m glad Magic pulled the trigger. Not only we were able to get get Hart and Bryant, we also got a cap flexibility and dump Mozzy and a chance for a game changer MAX player.

No. Rather have Hart then DLO. Not even close for me.
Hart has had a great rookie season. More then I could have ever imagined in fact. He is simply a smart hard working professional. I expect him to only get better as he fits into his complimentary role.
Bryant is irrelevant in this scenario. Until he earns playing time he is simply filler in any trade. Like adding a late 2nd rounder or the rights to a Euro player picked a couple years ago to any trade. Hope he continues to develop. But as of now he is simply "potential". |

No, I honestly wouldn't. I've become a huge Josh Hart fan in 2018. I see Hart as prime Danny Green with more shot creating ability and a better finisher. Hart is shooting efficiently in his rookie year and has been one of the team's best defenders. He is definitely part of the core. Low usage player too which accommodates any system.

Having DLO's contract (and impending free agency in 2019) makes this a definite no to me. We traded away 2 one-way players for 2 (and a potential 3rd) two-way players and salary cap flexibility. In this league if you're not a superstar then you'd better be able to contribute on both ends of the floor. _________________ Luxury Tax/FA Spreadsheet (Save to your Google Drive to edit) |

Wow. Good, tough question. I’m still a DLo fan but I probably wouldn’t do that.
We have enough primary scoring guys and I absolutely love Josh Hart. |
