Article on ESPN talking about Pau's thoughts on Pop and Thibs. Pau mentions he had good coaches and bad coaches. Even though the article is focused on Pop and Thibs, Pau mentions Hubie Brown and Mike Fratello as two of the good coaches he had. He DOES NOT mention PJ and we know he didn't like MDA.

Thoughts? Did Pau and PJ not end on good terms? While the article isn't about PJ, he is widely thought of as the best coach or at least one of the best of all time and Pau won his only chips under him.

Here's the article: http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/22782027/pau-gasol-opens-being-coached-tom-thibodeau-gregg-popovich

He didn't talk a lot about Pringles or Phil.

Pau was a free agent in 2016 and Phil never reached out to Gasol, instead deciding to give Noah a massive deal despite his interest in implementing the triangle in NY. Probably didn't sit all that well with Pau.

Pau ended up hooking up with Pop in SA.

Can you blame Phil? Pau plays no defense and scores inefficiently. He stopped being the same player in April of 2011.

San Antonio screw themselves up by giving Pau that bloated contract. They also gave Patty Mills a mediocre talent a huge contract also . I think the Spurs management have been slipping the past few years. They were lucky to get Aldridge but they are stuck in where they can compete for a playoff spot but not for a championship.

I love Phil. I'm one of his biggest stans. Greatest coach EVER. And sure Pau stopped being the best big in the league April 2011 (despite carrying our team when Kobe was injured early in the season).
But Pau did make back to back all star teams with the Bulls in 2015 and 2016.
So it's not like he sucked from April 2011 on.

Also Michael has thrown shade at Phil too. Said Phil was lucky Dean Smith taught him how to play basketball.
Robert Horry is another guy who said he preferred other coaches to Phil as well.

Have you seen Noah play? Rhetorical because he is out of the league. Phil sucked ass in the FO.

I thought Phil really liked Pau and that he was one of his favorite players ever. It sounds surprising that they have beef with each other.
