Yeah, Lakers lost it balls and brains when Buss died. |
Quick reminder. Spurs didn’t want to trade with the Lakers. What are u going to do about it? |
Teams didn’t refuse to deal with Dr. Buss, only his ignorant children. If he was in charge Kawhi probably would have been a Laker. |
Orly remember KG what happen to that deal |
What deal? Proposing things on LG doesn’t translate to reality. Very rarely. |
Thought u knew everything Eeyore. Dr Buss had the agreement with Glen Taylor for KG and Wolves backed out |

I miss Doc’s leadership and hate the direction Jeanie is taking the franchise as much as anyone, but that’s an absurd assertion. Kawhi isn’t a Laker because 1) it was widely reported Pop was never going to trade him here and 2) Pop wanted a win-now trade, not a rebuild trade. Hence taking DeRozan and not a package of picks/young players. |

We most likely wouldn’t be a rebuilding team if Dr. Buss still ran things. We always kept someone like Kwame on the roster to pull a trade if needed. Our rosters have been so poorly constructed that a trade for a star has been impossible. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I don’t see how you can credibly assert this. A rebuild is inevitable for a franchise that wins 5 titles in 10 years. We attempted to reload instead of rebuild with CP3 in 2011 and then Dwight/Nash in 2012. Both failed for different reasons but they were the right moves at the time. And Dr. Buss signed off on all those moves.
In any case, your initial assertion was we would’ve successfully traded for Kawhi if Dr. Buss was still alive, but now in order to justify that assertion you've gone so far down the hypothetical rabbit hole that nothing can reasonably proven or disproven.
One thing we can certainly agree on: that roster constructions since Kobe’s Achilles have indeed been awful. |

Kawhi doesn’t owe anything to the NBPA but for the sake of the players they can’t afford another PG situation. Front offices will happily trade guys to undesirable places if it means they end up staying and teams will start trading for them. Kawhi should be able to leave Toronto a hero either way if he leads them to the finals (title or no title) |

It’s really a wild situation. Have you ever heard of a potential Finals MVP with complete control over where he goes and how much he commands for compensation? That is the ultimate blank check. Amazing story. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL |

This man is talking like he enjoys what he has in Toronto. I guess if he does stay in Toronto it’s a good scenario in that he won’t be with the Clippers |

Once the Warriors crush them in the Finals he will change his tune. You need help to beat a juggernaut like the Warriors. |

If he doesn't come to the Lakers then he better stay in Toronto instead of going to the Clippers. |

But doesn't he march to the beat of his own drums? If he truly wants to go home regardless, then winning it all might make it easier for him. He gave Toronto a gift, and he can join Bron knowing he already won by himself.
On the other hand, if he gets crushed in the finals, joining Bron and possibly AD might be enticing. |

sorry, but that is a loser’s mentality.
being better than clippers does not add another title.
Lakers need KL and should’ve tried to trade with the raptors. Instead, on LG, there was mostly concern on whether KL would recover or if he was even a top 5 player. Well, now you know.
Lakers should be pushing hard for KL during free agency and a trade for AD. Then, there is a chance to take down GSW. |

While I wont bet vs the warriors, dont be surprised if Toronto surprises in this series. They're well coached and play as a team. |

if its the Uncle really pulling the strings then his success in Toronto this season is meaningless. He wants him in LA so he can be close to his family and they can all enjoy that VIP access. _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

A theory based on fact. Dr. Buss wasn’t afraid to be that 8th seed if it meant the playoffs. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

We would definitely be fighting for the playoffs with a post-Achilles Kobe and KFT. |

I Can’t even blame the FO for not getting him. No one will hand wrap the Lakers with stars anymore. No George and now We aren’t getting him(FA) or Davis(via trade this year). |

You might be right, but it’s premature to say it’s all over. There’s still hope until he signs his next contract. |
