Yeah, Seattle picked up a big man a few days ago - their priority right now is that backup PG position, and seeing as how we don't have one of those to spare, I doubt this is viable. Seattle wouldn't take Luke for Flip. Maybe a Slava for the cap relief...

On Losse Cannons this is the latest story as of 3:30pm today. Mitch Stated Im not looking into the Big trades just yet, I believe this unit is promising and can do well in the 2nd half of the season..

uhmm.. One Question

WHO THE HELL IS RONALD MURRAY?????? and who are we going to give up?

In my estimation, it would be a mistake if Mitch isn't looking into the big trades yet. Flip Murray would be a good acquisition, providing we get him cheap. Though I am not sure about his defense...

But this year Mitch needs to finally pull the trigger, and yes, that does mean Odom. Last year this time rumors abounded about both Peja and Boozer, and yet nothing came of it. This year, no big rumors surfacing... but if anything is out there, we need to do it!

im posting what i hear and I think Mitch is going to keep this unit for the rest of the season weather we like it or not

I hear you... let's just hope there's something out there that we aren't hearing about! Now would be a good time to move Odom, while he still has some value left.

If Mitch can get Murray & Fortson or Evans and then pull out a good deal then his reputation will change let's hope he does it!

Some asked what is so good about Murray. For one thing, he is better than what we have now for most part.

Murray and Evans/Fortson would be enough to solidify this team into the playoffs. Evans/Fortson would bring more rebounding and toughness inside and Murray can contribute some good points off the bench. Both would address weaknesses in the team. With Mihm back, Kwame's decent man D, Evans' hustling for boards and Odom nabbing boards himself, the frontline would be solid. Also their contracts aren't toxic. It would be a great deal. Highly prefer that to Francis.

Is Murry really on a 1 year contract as reported by realgm?

If so, wouldn't we NOT have his bird rights this summer if he agreed to be traded to us?

Yes and yes. This would be a rental until the end of the season and then we'd have to re-sign him.

Until a few months ago I lived in Seattle, so saw him play lots. Absolutely NO D, but he's a really good offensive player and would give us some good firepower. If he can be acquired on the cheap, then by all means, but really he's not worth anything more than a Slava or Luke with D that poor.

wow, you guys really make it sound like he's a hidden gem. if what you say is true, he's definitely the type of guard we need, although i would like for the lakers to acquire someone better too.

I don't know why. He doesn't shoot well. He doesn't defend well.

He's solid, but people are in the "grass is greener on the other side" mode
through much of this thread.

Wouldn't be a bad pickup - but let's keep our pants on here.

From the few Sonics games I've seen this season, I agree that his D leaves a lot to be desired, although he actually has the tools to be a good defender. Very quick & plays the passing lanes well. Gets his points no matter what. He'll definitely help out Kobe in the scoring dept.
