I really don't understand why they so consistently flame out in the playoffs despite being the best team in their conference, year after year. Who is worse than the raptors in this?

It's because they live among Canadians several months each year, and Canadians are simply too polite. That's bound to rub off on the players, and it softens them up compared to the tough, blue-collar, street-smart, freedom-loving mentality of their American-based competition.

This year is the only season Toronto has been the top team in the east. For the past 4 years, they've been #2, #3 or #4 in the conference, and they usually lose to the Cavs who have generally had a better record than them.

They certainly haven't had much playoff success, but they generally lose to teams that have a fairly similar or slightly better record to them. So I wouldn't say that it's a case of them losing to inferior competition, as much as they are always just a little inferior to the competition.

I don't think the Hawks ever won the conference, at least not during the Lebron era.

Probably has more to do with the player makeup of their team. They tend to shrink when the pressure gets to them especially facing Lebron.

Watching the Raptors choke down the stretch was really educational.
The coach needs to shoulder much of the blame for allowing them to flame out.

Raps are done in 4. I call sweep.

Could be pressure. Or it could be they simply aren't as good as the Cavs. They tend to lose to them in the regular season as well.

The playoffs are a time for overreaction. I won't be surprised a bit if the Raptors win that series.

The best team in the East year after year is the Lebron team. This is the first time Toronto has a better regular season record than his team.

The Raptors do struggle a lot but it’s not unheard of for teams to have bigger collapses. The Shaq teams before 2000 would get swept over and over again with a 4-1 loss in 97 being the only exception.

If Canada ever went into war, this is how I imagine their armed forces would fare.

I thnk the Raptors will be making some moves this off-season. They'll have to deal either DeRozan or Lowry I think. Ibaka may be unmovable.

LMAO.... I got a nice hearty chuckle out of that one.

Sometimes, things ARE exactly as they appear.

I mean the Raptors just don't have much talent in comparison to the Cavs.

No, has a team top-to-bottom, Rapter i believe have a better "team" Unfortunately, basketball is the only sport where one man can impose his will to win a series. Just like how Kobe used to rape the Rapter in every way, Lebron does the same thing to them.

Didn't realize Valanciunas was making that much! He's probably the most unmovable Raptor.

LINK

At least they look like they picked up some solid rookies in Anunoby and Siakim.

VanVleet is going to be an RFA this summer.
