Not that it's a sure thing by a long shot but
I think it'll be door number 1.

George and Randle is my guess at most likely. LeBron being the wild card on this of course.

You should add Randle to the Lebron and PG scenario.

If they get Lebron and PG, it makes re-signing Randle a 100% no-brainer.

no room unless you stretch Deng and get PG and/or Lebron to take less, right?

You would need to sign Lebron and PG before Randle signs a bigger offer.

Lebron and PG would need to take less or Deng would need to be traded while getting nothing back to create more cap space.

I think another very possible outcome is sign george and lose Randle to a large RFA offer. It might even be the preferred outcome to some

Yeah, options 2 and 3 are basically the same in terms of striking out. I'd eliminate one and replace it with attaining all three of Randle, George, and LeBron.

I think we get PG, sign Randle and whatever money we have we give to Brook Lopez on the best 1 year deal possible.

Lonzo Ball (34 MPG) (Most minutes at PG)
Paul George (33 MPG) (Shooting Guard/Small Forward)
Brandon Ingram (33 MPG) (Mostly at SF, few at either guard position)
Julius Randle (32 MPG) (Power Forward/Center)
Brook Lopez (25 MPG) (All minutes as a center)

Kyle Kuzma (32 MPG) (Power Forward/Small Forward)
Josh Hart (30 MPG) (He'll get minutes at 1,2, or 3)

The rotation is a little thin but I think we'd have 7 guys playing heavy minutes and then the first round pick + any shooters filling up whatever minutes are left.

Re-sign Randle. I'm starting to sour on PG. I'm not wanting us to sign LBJ but who could complain about that.

Should be the first one contacted when freeagency hits imo

I really don’t understand the PG13 and/or lebron mania. We have 3 Young forwards that all averaged an efficient 16 ppg last season. We had a glaring hole at center imo (brook was good but should have been more assertive in the paint imo). Btw...I think josh hart can avgerage 15ppg easily if given the opportunity. I think we’re only missing a big man

maybe my numbers are off, but I show that even if we stretch Deng, will not be able to sign PG and LBJ while holding onto Randle's cap hold....would only have around $60ish Million in cap space with Randle's cap hold.

Not to mention the fact that star two way wings are worth way more than low post centers (or ball handling chucking centers). Capela, draymond, Gobert, those are the type of bigs you want.

I just think cousins game is mostly mental. He’s a very intelligent scorer and the injury shouldn’t really set him back too much. His game isn’t really predicated on being a super athlete.

I didn’t like cousins before, but with the direction out team is headed now he’s perfect imo. Just look at where he likes to operate...it’s like he’s tailor made to play in Luke’s system. I feel like we should grab cousins and randle and wait for leanard next offseason. If we want a two way wing we should go after the best

With Luke, Lonzo, and magic in place they should be able to limit cousins chucking .

Paul George and Randle.

I really want LeBron here but it just seems too pie in the sky to actually happen.

They'd need to trade Deng with no money coming back. At that point, as long as Randle signs last, they can pay him anything they want, as his caphold fits with Lebron and PG maxes.

Even without consideration of a likely rehab delay and reduced ceiling in Cousin's return from injury (and some risk of susceptibility to another injury), I don't like two things about his game.

His attitude issues (temper, lack of steady focus in-game, lack of adequate leadership/success patterns in his pro history) seem costly risks in a max player. I struggle to visualize how Cousins works in a main finishing lineup that becomes defensively tough. I fear that his presence on the Lakers would become an anvil chained to the legs of the front office for years.

Pass on Cousins.

IT on a one-year deal would also help that rotation...

Pg, Lebron and Randle. Lebron and PG take a slight paycut to keep Randle. Randle signs a contract starting at 16 mil. I would tell Lebron u have to take a little less in order to keep Randle. If he says no, say bubye then. I would rather keep Randle then sign Lebron.

I think this is what is going to happen. If the Lakers front office gets a decent enough offer to dump Deng around draft night, I think they will pull the trigger. More likely, they would do it in July though. Teams will ask for Ingram or Kuzma, but in the end I think its going to cost us something like Hart, #25 and some additional 1st and/or 2nd round picks. This would be extremely painful and risky since 3 and D players like Hart are hard to come by, for such a cheap price. But it seems the Lakers are not as high on him as Kuzma and Ingram, so if they are going to part with any of the young core, it probably would be him. If this trade is struck before free agency, I could see the Lakers coming to agreement with George on July 1st and Lebron within 3 days. If Randle is signed to an offer sheet, Lakers could match within that 3 day period. Lakers could then monitor the Kahwii situation and if he is proven healthy and still available in a trade, the Lakers could look into a trade offer centered around Randle after December 15th.
