Lakers forum = Only time you will ever see some not wanting to trade Lonzo for KAT. |
Yeah but it's not a case where Laker fans are overrating their player, it's a case where Lonzo is massively underrated outside of the fanbase. They don't have time to watch games so they just look at POINNTTZZ. To understand Zo's impact you have to watch him play, and even then some don't acknowledge it.
I like KAT offensively but I don't like his defense as a full-time center. He might end up being another Cousins type center who puts up stats that don't lead to wins.
KAT just completed his 3rd year in the league. Imagine where Zo will be in 2 years after his 3rd season. Obviously KAT is further along right now but I don't think the gap is as big as people want us to believe. The pundits already think Lonzo is a bust. Don't listen to them. |
It annoys me how so many non Lakers fans think Lonzo is a bust, and people want to discredit his impact because of his scoring.
Lonzo is severely underrated by non Lakers fans |
Look, that trade for KAT is not going to happen but just for arguments sake, if it did come up, the FO would ship Zo out in a blink. Lonzo has unrealized potential but KAT is a star now. _________________ Lakers need to build a freaking team ! |

Don’t think Thibs is the right coach/system for KAT. I’d trade BI for him if I could and run Kuz primarily at the 3 |

Maybe KAT is the new Kevin Love. |
KD won like 20 games his first two seasons. He turned out ok. |
KD also won 50 games by year 3. AD also made the playoffs his third season. KAT's team fell off the map when Butler got hurt. |

Wiggins is garbage.
They also don't have players like Randle, Kuzma, or Hart tbh. |
You're right, they had two lottery picks (Lavine & Dunn), and a coach who took his team to the Eastern conference finals in Thibs.
The Lakers,OTOH, won more games with a 27th and 30th pick, two 2nd picks missing 30 games and a second year head coach. Go figure. |

I mean at worse he is Pau Gasol in his prime with a 3pt shot. He does't have Pau's passing though. |
He’s not Pau. At least not at this time |
He is offensively better now than Pau was in his prime. Pau's defense was a bit better in his prime but KAT is still young in that regard.
Town's 3rd year vs Pau's Best Year Statistically |

When Pau is a better defender... |

No point in comparing entire teams when we are looking at one player's impact. The Lakers this year are better than the T-Wolves were last year.
I don't really care about where players are picked but just actual production.
Love is a much bigger defensive liability than KAT.
Towns vs Love 3rd season |

Kat shot over 40% on 3s. Why is he only averaging 3.5 attempts a game? Only an increase of .1 attempts from last year |

They could just trade KAT and Teague for Kawhi and Murray. |

Lonzo Ball in LA in his prime is a place superstars will want to be. When Lonzo gets involved with All-Star games and Team USA tryouts his value to a frachise will be realized. |

Would be ridiculously idiotic to trade either Kuz or Ingram.
The Lakers will live to regret it.
This shortsighted view will lead to zero championships and Magic and Rob will look like fools. _________________ Everyting negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise.

I don't care what (bleep) I'm gonna get from LG for saying this, but I wouldn't trade BI for KAT. Even if it means unloading Deng. There are some people I'd trade BI for, but not KAT. Maybe KAT is in the wrong system, or maybe he's been pushed too hard, but he looks uninterested at times. He also seems slow running the court and he disappears on defense. I don't think he's the player people think he is and maybe that's because he's hidden from public view up in Minny. I could be wrong, but personally, he has a ways to go to become a Superstar. |

How do we get Ingram to play point and slide Ball to the 2? Will this ever come to fruition? Like you, that is my dream scenario for both players. |

Sorry, I slipped.
I'm intrigued at the defensive matchups of a BI Zo backcourt. |

Will never understand the fascination for a Point guard who cant shoot from range consistently. cant make layups, floaters or free throws.
A complete liability on the offensive end of the court, in a era where offense trumps all.
but will poo poo two 6'9 versatile forwards who can score on all three levels, play defense, rebound, and make plays for their teammates. in an era where position-less basketball is the craze.
not to mention their ridiculous length and athleticism.
makes zero sense to me.
you can go find a role player to do the things Lonzo can do and i mean that. _________________ Everyting negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise.

I disagree.
Lonzo can throw a pea in the ocean. Most likely the Pacific ocean. |

I challenge you guys to stand on the beach or a pier and try to throw peas, one by one, into the ocean. They're so light the wind will blow them right back into your face |
