https://thebiglead.com/2018/04/12/25-best-nba-players-under-25-years-old/

24. Julius Randle, 23, LA Lakers
Maybe it was because he’s looking for a big contract, but Randle was a force for the Lakers in his 4th season: 16.3 ppg, 8.0 rpg and shooting 55 percent. He overwhelmed so many defenders, it almost makes you wonder if the Lakers have a difficult decision to make. Ultimately, you have to take LeBron and Paul George, but Randle has proven somebody’s gonna pay him.

18. Lonzo Ball, 20, LA Lakers
He only played 52 games, and he didn’t shoot well – 36% FG, 30% 3FG, 45% FTs – but those are all things that can be improved. He wasn’t signed to be a scorer; his feel for the game (7.2 apg) and intangibles (5.6 rpg, 1.7 spg) can’t be coached.

15. Kyle Kuzma, 22, LA Lakers
Least-likely player to appear on this list before the season. He’ll be 1st team All-Rookie after a marvelous season in which he averaged 16.1 ppg and 6.3 rpg while shooting 36 percent on 3-pointers. If you re-drafted the 2017 draft, Kuzma would Top 7, for sure.

13. Brandon Ingram, 20, LA Lakers
If injuries didn’t limit him to 59 games, he could win runner-up for Most Improved player. Unshackled from shoot-first De’Angelo Russell Ingram averaged 16.1 ppg shooting 47 percent from the field and 39 percent on 3-pointers. He’s starting to look like the star he was at Duke. Will this be curtailed when LeBron and Paul George show up?

I was listening to NBA radio today and they was talking about the draft and mentioned Kuzma as a star. This was coming from a guy Mitch Lawrence who months ago didn’t think the Lakers had any worthy players. Now he believes they have talent and future stars. I want to keep the core 4 together.

It's the same few guys making Brandon Ingram trades for cap space in every single thread that exists lol.

It's not even half as likely as reading this sub would lead you to believe.

It's why hopefully Randle gets in a sign and trade. Not Ingram.

As long as the management knows it... doesn't matter what this board thinks.

Still, it's unnerving the lengths to which some people will go to save Randle.

Lonzo had 6.9 rebounds per game, not 5.6. (It was 5.6 defensive rebounds per game.)

Yes, this random reporter guy is who validates all talent assessment. Once he has written it and uploaded it to the web, it is the stark truth that Ingram is the 13th best talent under age 24.

No one is saying what he say's is gospel.. Nice spin though. We're simply echoing the sentiment that the odds are pretty good that Ingram will eventually be an allstar. Also that he's too good of a prospect to use as a means to dump unwanted salary.

Simmons
Giannis
Towns
Mitchell
Embiid
Jokic
Tatum
Beal
Booker
Porzingis
Markannen
Wiggins

better than Ingram... I see no lies at this stage in their careers.

Agree with your point that any of us can post a top 25 list... but I thought it was reasonably accurate except maybe Randle should be ahead of Aaron Gordon.

Wiggins invalidates the entire list.

I can buy that he's still a talent under 25 if you remove his contract, but yeah, no way he should be ahead of any of our Lakers on that list, not even Julius.

By next season, I'm hoping BI will have surpassed Wiggins... but the list was purely based on who were the best young players.

Wiggins was the only one who gave me pause... but I figured you had to give him some credit for averaging 23 points at 21 years of age.

The kid averaged 22 and 12 while not missing a single game in three years due to injury

He had a bad playoffs but you cannot deny he has been better than most of the youngsters.

fify

There are scenarios where dealing BI (or Zo, Kuz, etc) make sense, but the constant spamming of multiple threads with idiotic BI trades is ridiculous.

its mostly a fair list....can always debate a few slots or down....but Giannis should be #1.....and Wiggins is definitely one of the best 25 players under 25....he had a rough year adjusting to Butler, but the guy averaged 24 PPG last season. Also think he has Lauri Markkanen a little high. Overall, I thought he was more fair to our guys than many in the media would have been.

And Wiggins hasn't gotten better in four seasons. Imagine giving Jordan Clarkson a $146.5M contract.
