My family would disown me if I didn't cheer/root for Germany. If the US can't win, then Germany better.

I think France, they have quality all over, and unrivalled depth.

Despite all of the hype, I don’t think there are any teams on par with Germany ‘14 or Spain ‘10. It wouldn’t surprise me if 2-3 of the big names go out in the group stage and if a couple dark horses make deep runs. Think ‘02.

On paper, they have an amazing squad with insane talent.
Unfortunately, they're led by Roberto Martinez.

Not sure they're the only team with quality depth. Brazil, Spain, Germany have similar levels with more top-end talent.

I am excited even though the USA isn't in it.

I am rooting for England, but I would bet Germany.

I am deeply disappointed that both the USA and Italy aren't in it. I'll still watch, though, and I'd like to see Messi and Argentina finally win a big tournament.

I would LOVE for Germany to repeat but from what I have seen, i'm not too impressed. They are lacking that connection in the final third thus not scoring as much as they should. I know Sane wasn't doing much for the NT but if Low is going to play wide with 2 wingers, you need speed. Thats why it would have been nice to have Sane as a super sub for some pace. There's Reus but the injury history/concern is there. Brandt isn't going to blow by his defender neither is Muller or Draxler. Werner is still a kid but maybe this could be his world wide coming out party? Not sure how much Gomez will contribute. He's only 32 but i coulda sworn he was more like 35. They might have to rely more on their defense to keep the scores low because I dont see them scoring as much as the last world cup

Really hope im wrong though

Not giving Benzema the nod isn't a move I see paying off for them.

As long as Deschamps is the manager, Benzema will not get selected. That 'sex scandal' pretty much ended any future prospects on the national team for both him and Ribery.

Just want to see Iran get out of the group stage. Otherwise, don't care much. I've been spoiled last two cups (bet on and rooted for Germany and Spain throughout). Got super close in 06, as I had France ((bleep) Buffon on that header by Zidane, i'll never forget! the agony, ugh). Don't care much for Brasil. Argentina? yeah that would be cool - portugal too, love me some Cristiano.

Colombia would be sweet, James was incredible in '14, that game against Brazil, woo that was fun. Belgium, Poland, Mexico . . . sure why not. England - yeah, go ahead. France - wouldn't mind either. So long as the beautiful game is played beautifully, i don't mind.

^You know what, I'd actually like to see Russia win. Everyone would cry foul and it would be quite funny to see FIFA deal with that mess.

I honestly DONT see where all the spain hype is coming from.

They flopped pretty hard in 2014 and in my opinion, arent much stronger this time around. They definitely have an easier group.

I htink they will make it to round of 8, max.. but even then, for how much hype they are getting.. not buying it. Seem them ranked top 4 constantly. In my opinion it's brazil and germany as top tier, followed by france, then the rest are kind of a toss up.

Solid teams that could make deep runs, croatia, colombia, peru.. but who knows, croatia was just as strong in 2014 and got spanked by mexico pretty hard (was there ).

That would be amazing. I'm rooting for ARG to win it all. They've under-performed for far too long and were so close 4 years ago.
