Why strangely? It's the best destination out there for star quality free agents.

Best destination? IF you want to win a ring, there are better options. So, best destination is debatable according to the criteria....

That's your criteria. Most incoming star players, I suspect, would rather not be minimized in starting lineups already filled with ball dominant players.

Yet we going after 2 and maybe a third that do exactly that?

2 is fine. 3 is overkill. I see the KL talks as more of an indication that things may not be all that rosy on the PG front. It doesn't hurt to have a backup plan either.

So, with PG13 potentially staying at least for another season with OKC there a good chance we fail getting any of them.

Like I said, Lebron too much of a puss to come here solo and if he did, I bet he lost his desire to compete for rings

If we strike out it will be disappointing.

There is a slim chance that Magic Rob build a super team with Lebron, PG and KL which is what is most hoped for so if that dream goes bye bye it would be disappointing but not surprising.

Now if we strike out and resign Randle I would still be very excited about this team and its prospects. I expect huge improvement from Randle, Kuz, Ball, BI and Hart. They are a great core of young players.

And just because we strike out in FA doesn't mean we are done. We have so much cap space and it will be fascinating to see how Magic Rob leverage the cap space to acquire assets. I see us facilitating trades and perhaps taking on a few bad 1 year contracts for first rounders as a way to leverage our position. We might even figure out how to dump Deng while taking back bigger money in this next year.

Anyway we have enough players to have an exciting year and a good chance of making the playoffs, we will still be in a great position to leverage our cap space and acquire additional assets and it will be interesting to see how Magic Rob continue to work toward bring the franchise back toward a championship level.

Do we still pursue a Kawhi Leonard trade if/when Paul George re-signs to OKC on a 2+1 deal, and if LeBron decides to remain in Cleveland?

At that point do you just put all your eggs into the 2019 basket and commit to another year of development of your young players?

Nope. Sign Randle and grab Kawhi in 19. All good with that. Dont gut the team for Kawhi and no one else. I see a 8th seed with this team next season at least.

8th seed with no superstar and potentially no Lopez + KCP?

I doubt it. I think there is a more likelihood of us being bottom3 in the west than a playoff team (granted teams dont get injured +tank)

If the Lakers strike out I would be ok.

I think the Lakers drafted some key pieces that could complete the puzzle if they pan out and given a couple years to develop with the current young core.

In a couple years the Warriors will be on the decline. I would imagine if Durant gets his max contract then the Warriors will start losing key pieces like Thompson and/or maybe Green due to money issues. (Can anyone confirm if this would be true?)

If Paul George is to scared to come back to LA to compete for championships with a Superteam and would rather languish with two ball hogs in Westbrook and Melo then he isn't what the Lakers need.

In two years or so, Lebron will be pretty dang old...

I never really paid much attention to Kahwai (sp?) is he really that good? To me, he may not be so good that you would want to gut your team of the young core guys to get him.

Imagine this team in two years or so with added experience and full grown bodies...

Wagner
Randle
Ingram
Lonzo
Hart

then off the bench:
Kuzma PF
Svi SG
Zubac/Bryant C
Bonga (wishful thinking!) PG

and I'm really hoping that Malik Newman pans out.

So I just hope the Lakers don't screw things up like Jim Buss and Mitch did.

We will still be able to offer 2 large one year deals and punt till 19, so we should not be that bad off. Loosing KCP will hurt, but i think mo could step in and help fill the lopez spot up and 3 position. All the young guys will be much better than last year. Hart will need to fill the KCP role.

Summer 2018

1. PG13 (Failed)
2. Lbj
3. Leonard

LBJ + Leonard is still a great team, but we will need another combo guard to be paired up with them since I trust neither in the clutch....

(also, i don't see why boogie would sign a short term deal)

Spurs aren't trading us Leonard unless its for good value. I'm not sure if trading Ingram and Kuz is the smart thing to do.

Was better prepared for this after looking back at the posts from a year ago by that wannabe paparazzo, whose only contribution was following IG accounts from NBA fans with good seats and re-posting their pictures.

Klay ain't gonna leave the Warriors. We could wait for Kawhi in a year, but no guarantee he'll come (as we just saw with PG), plus do we really want to waste 1 year of Lebron, he will be 35 years old next season.

Josh Hart isn't nothing, even though we botched the #42nd pick. Pairing DLO with Ball isn't a great idea unless you're opening an arthroscopy clinic.
