Pretty cool that he came in and hit some shots today without getting much extended burn in the NBA. There’s likely a few picks we whiffed on later in the draft but still interested in what we have in Moe. Zubac shouldn’t play another second.

Can they just try using him at PF spot for the 2nd unit instead of Luke's favorite 4 guard combination. He's getting a hard time defending centers but i think he can defend the 4. And he's a pretty good knockdown shooter.

LeBron James, Lonzo Ball and Luke Walton have been impressed with Moe Wagner
Quote:
Luke Walton thinks Moe Wagner helps LeBron James by being a stretch-five, while Lonzo Ball highlighted how hard Wagner plays while returning from injury.

Wagner at 4 and Zubac at the 5? Depending if Chandler is still going to be starting if McGee isn't back.

Definite SMALL ball center right now. SF's still push him out of position, but he's mobile enough to get around the true big men for some paint action and he's in there to be on the Perimeter on offense.

I was impressed by his foot speed running the court.

What was the scouting report of Mo’s defense back in college?

awful
Quote:
Not a great rim protector and not really athletic or quick enough to defend the 4 either ... May be neutralized to merely a stretch big at the next level ... Average rebounder for a 6'11" guy ... Does not project to offer a lot of versatility at the next level besides being a big guy who can shoot and occasionally score inside ..

I'll withhold judgement on Wagner until next season. I didn't like the pick when it was made, but the fit with LeBron makes sense. Channing Frye was a wretched defender and couldn't put the ball on the floor, but he was still a positive impact player.

Will Wagner put on mass? That's the question pertinent to his potential for growth.

The scheme matters. The Lakers have a true center in their offensive and defensive scheme. That's why the team struggled when McGee sat and why it flourished when Chandler was added. That's also why Zu can step in and produce right away.

If you want to see what Wagner can do as a center, you may need to change the scheme for him. I am more interested in what he can do as a PF.

Meh, he is pushed even by combo guards. Why do you think Luke use that 4 guard lineup in the first quarter? @ least if we had drafted LShamet like Mike (@) lg wanted, we would had a 3pt shooter.

I posted this 2 months ago. Several posters thought I was being pessimistic, so I was curious to see where Mo stood around Christmas. I was actually kinda hoping they saw something I didn't.

So here we are. Sorry but this kid's a long ways off. Even I was too optimistic.

Josh Hart is stronger ffs. Brandon Ingram clearly isn't, but somehow BI plays stronger. Hit the weight room Mo. We could use a big with range, what we have now is a 6'11" wing.

Care to rethink that? Starting center Zubac left the Memphis game with leads that were quickly surrendered when Mo came in.

Send Mo to the D-league. Didn't like the pick at the time and still don't.

Good minutes tonight especially spacing and communicating.... More Wagner at PF less McGee might be a good idea..

I actually think he could end up as good of a scorer as Kuz. You simply can’t overlook this guys footwork, ball handling and shooting. I was very pissed we didn’t take Robinson instead (still salty) but Mo is provin to me that he was an equally great choice.

That spin move last night from the corner, even though he didn’t make the shot (can’t remember I think he tried to pass actually) was an absolute thing of beauty. This kid gon be problem.

Nice footwork.
Great hands on defense.
Pretty decent vision.
Hoping for a young KLove.
