I think Bonga would serve well as a combo guard, and a 2 next to Lonzo eventually if he reaches the potential he has.
Till then I'd say Josh Hart should be the starting 2 next to Lonzo, but imo Bonga should be being groomed for that combo role, as he has some very good natural instincts at the 1, but if his shot can continue to hold up, and his handle improve, he'll also be able to make some noise at the 2 as well, and that's a good fit next to Lonzo.
Right now though Hart should be starting at the 2 and Ingram at the 3 with Bron at the 4.
As it stands though, Bonga is still raw, but he is coming along very well for his age.
Not sure where Bonga will play but if the is a rotation player he may be able to play 1-4 once he matures so he could be a key bench asset. His 3 shooting, defense, ball handling and court vision are all pretty darn good right now. He just needs a little more time.
I agree also put Hart in the Lineup and bump Kuz out for a while. Kuz game is messed up right now.
Would Bonga be a player of the year candidate as a freshman in college right now? Where do you think he would be projected to go in the draft next year if he was starting on a team like Syracuse for example?
Bonga with career high today? i think so anyway, he was looking like a three point specialist out there and went 5-9 from the deep. just some nasty back to back threes from him today. if he gets his footwork down and develops some more moves he will be awesome to watch. also needs to add on some muscle and weight because he is real skinny and gets pushed around very easily. his height is a massive advantage for him in the g-league
Is there a chance that he can be like Pippen? Long arms, good size for a pg, good ball control, can shoot 3s. He's not that athletic though. Also how about his defense?
Isaac Bonga (25 points) Highlights vs. Salt Lake City Stars:
I'm intrigued. I just think he outclasses the g-league competition, by virtue of his skill set and frame. Wish we could fast forward the clock 2 years and see how he measures up to NBA talent.

looks like lamar odom type to me, i don't know about pippen
I mentioned his quickness during the summer league. He looked lost because of the speed of the game but I think he’s over that. He looks to be playing at a controlled pace. It looks slow because its so controlled. He can get to most spots on the floor. Look at his reaction on defense. He has quick hands. On offense he has a sneaky fast first step. He doesn’t need to get creative with his dribble to get past his defender.
His three is silky smooth. His footwork while shooting is consistent. He will never be a primary ball handler but he can share duties.
I love how his feet are always set on his 3. He shoots in rhythm and with nice balance. The kid's come a LONG way in such a short time. South Bay coaching staff doing a nice job with him.

Offensively, it's possible.
Defensively, well, it took years for Pippen too, but Pippen ahd great steal/block rates early, so I wouldn't expect it. _________________ Resident Car Nut.

We've got to retire Pippen comparisons on this team. The only guy who's even remotely comparable to Pippen is LeBron.
