Is Svi another Devin Booker?

Not in terms of the explosive scoring, but in terms of people passing over him because of the aspect of his game he showed in the system in college but he had much more to his game that people didn't anticipate?

yup, I love that the overall foundation in terms of overall skills is there. he isn't just a stand still 3 point shooter, he is a dynamic shooter. of course his D has been impressive. I loved that he has shown the ability/willingness to aggressively attack the close out. also loved that he has displayed some point guard skills. he has a great foundation, where he can continue to build on. I'm hoping to see a very well rounded basketball player in svi, in the future

Luke can't mess this up

You do know that Lance would own this Summer League

you do know he would still shoot 30% from 3

We really don't know that against summer league defense. You can assume though

he's just not a good shooter man. look at this %s while open/wide-open, they're on NBA.com. I'm sure they're bad

He would still dominate summer league

i don't care. I care about shooting.

I agree, but there have been great shooters in the past who haven't made the NBA or haven't cracked rotations. Lance on the other hand is an NBA player.

Also, it matter lis what Luke thinks and not necessarily who we want playing

If it was a player other than Lance, I'd be hearing you out. But Lance was legit bad last year on both sides of the ball(hasn't been good since 2014)... Svi is just looking like the better, more modern player

True. I just don't think they paid Lance 4 plus million to sit.

It's a long season. Guys get aches and injuries. There should be plenty to go around. I think we get too caught up in who's going to play how many minutes. This is not just about youth development anymore this is about winning a championship.

By the end of the season I expect Luke to have the best units out there. I see no reason why Svi or even Moe could slide into an important role. We really need to just find that five that really clicks and that Luke can trust to just let go. The rest could be easy.

It will take a little time. Good thing we got Lebron. If they stay healthy, they look to have a very deep playoff team. Hopefully a strong nine, ten deep with an x factor. Alot of interchangeable parts.

Svi. He's cheaper and younger. More upside too imo.

How the heck did he fall to 47? Did people think he was another Mike Penberthy?

Well, one reason is that they're pretty good, another is that guys get injured, etc. However, I generally agree that they're not going to get minutes just to get minutes. In fact, they'll both get a healthy, typical, rookie share of DNPs. Moreso Mo, I think, because he'll probably have more growing pains than Svi, whereas even with a very limited role, they may plug Svi in to some lineups for a few minutes just to stand and shoot. But still plenty of DNPs.

He has a 6’5 wingspan. That’s literally it. Although it’s basically unprecedented, it doesn’t seem to be hindering him much.

If he had a 6’8 - 6’10 wingspan, he’s probably top 25ish.

Don't get all knotted up over a rookie's minutes. Nothing good can come from that. As much as anything, Stephenson is here to be gone in a year. Nobody wants to put unnecessary pressure on rookies. The fewer rookies you're relying on when contending for a championship, the better. That's not personal to Mo or Svi. That's just universal.

They need to just be ready for when their name is called, show flashes of what they can do in a few minutes, and then act thankful for the learning experience. Then in year two, the team will start to carve out a larger role, if called for.

It's not unprecedented at all

JJ Reddick just got a big contract and has the same profile

As easily as he's able to dunk despite that wingspan, he must have an impressive vertical to make up for those inches missing from the top of his reach.
