agreed about the backup PG. get Lebrons boy, Shabazz Napier to back up Lonzo. two 20 year olds as PG rotation doesent feel good for a contender _________________ 48 49 50 52 53 54 72 80 82

He shoots lights out. Has a nice step back. Can drive a little. Seems athletic to me, caught a lot of oops in his highlights and was getting up _________________ Previously LBJ23
44% 3 shooter and averaged 15 ppg from Kansas. That’s actually pretty damn awesome.
Only downside is that he’s 6’8 with a......6’5 wingspan. God did him dirty with the arms.
so basically he's liangelo ball who is already 6'5 with the same or slightly better wingspan. also a shooter/scorer, that isnt known for his defense.
Liangelo doesn't have a track record of 4 years at a major college program shooting lights out from 3 like this guy. _________________ Previously LBJ23
For a shooter, short arms is probably a positive. The ball leaves you earlier, and that equates to less of your shots getting blocked by those long arms.
Gonna go drink my glass of water of there, which is half full BTW.

I like him.
I'm hopeful. One thing I didn't like about Travis Wear is that if a defender forced him to take a dribble and reset, he rarely hit the shot. Doesn't look this kid has that issue. This kid comes from a good program and, like Hart, has had time to mature. _________________ "Suck it up. Don't be a baby. Do your job." - Kobe Bryant

Seen enough film to get my hopes up. It makes sense the Lakers are drafting for situational roles considering the core, cap space and the free agents they could be bringing in. We need players who can come in off the bench, knock down 3's whether contested or not and keep the defense honest, and svi looks like he can do that well.
*fingers crossed that he has a high release point...
well as high as you can get with t-rex arms...
He’s 6’8 though
That’s really good height to start. And he won’t be taking contested jumpers. He’ll just be taking spot up jumpers. All he has to worry about r closeouts.
6’8 w a 6’5 wingspan has the same vertical reach as a 6’5 guard w/ a 6’8 wingspan

Does anybody here watch Kansas a lot? Trying to figure out if Svi is able to shoot off screens well/at all. The little clips I was able to see show most of his shooting coming off some combination of catch-and-shoot or dribble pull-up (!he has a step-back too!). Already like the pick but my view of this and his upside esp. in a SG role in Luke's offense will depend on if he can make plays and shoot running off screens. _________________ 0.4

If he can’t it’s not a hard shot to pick up n master (for him). It’s just learning the proper footwork n how to run, plant, and get the shot off.
It’s like learning a new dance move. You just have to get the footwork down.
His athleticism is surprising. The stroke stands out of course, but I was surprised to see so many alley oops in his highlights. Also, according to Cranjis, he's a very smart defender. Obviously, he's no stopper, but it looks like he's strong enough on D to get PT.

Love that he played 4 years in college and will only be 21 during his rookie year. Best of both worlds with youth and experience. Love the pick and I think he has a chance to develop and have immediate impact.
Lakers must think he can play the 3 or he’s headed to G-league. Josh hart is our 2 guard and idk if this kid is good enough to take minutes away from him. I like the pick though...he has to play the 3 off the bench. He’s 6’8 even though his wingspan isn’t impressive he should be ok as long as he can stay in front of his man. I’m guessing Wagner is here to play the 5 🤔 idk what we would do with another 4...would mean we have taken one in every draft since randle...unless they view Kuzma as a 3 now.
Pretty sure they view Thomas Bryant as a 4 since that’s what he played when we brought him up.

I like the kid and the pick for the club. Talent and club need and relative draft value all match up nicely. _________________ “These GOAT discussions are fun distractions while sitting around waiting for the pizza to be served.”
