No way there were 46 players better than him in this draft...no way.

The footwork coming off a screen...no wasted motion...everything compact...shot mechanics look efficient and the exact same each shot.

If he can play D...he'll be a starter by year 3.

REALLY happy that from a cap standpoint, we have super cheap players in Kuz/Hart/Svi/Wagner going forward. If Bonga pans out even better. Underrated how important this will be in our championship window to have rotation/starter level players this cheap. I would be leery of trading these guys out if possible.

Did Wagner look as good as those other guys to you?

Nope. But he's cheap and has a chance to crack the rotation eventually.

As was said. With Svi and Hart here, we didn't need KCP.

But it's better to have all three since depth is a thing, ya know? I mean, I don't think it'll hurt to have both KCP and Hart in the playoffs, especially if they play GS.

It's more like why did they sign Lance, IMO. Assuming he cracks the rotation.

They signed Stevenson because LeBron wanted them to.

Something they shouldn't get in the habit of doing too much of in the LeGM sense, lest they want a Tristan Thompson, JR Smith situation.

You can't really compare the two situations. It's a 1 year small money deal.

Come on man. We certainly need KCP. KCP is far more ready to compete with the best players in the NBAthan Svi and probably Hart too.

Svi has a chance to be a legit player for the Lakers in the future but as of now it’s overly optimistic to assume he’ll have a significant positive impact on the team as a rookie even if he was in a situation where he was gonna get a lot of PT.

That post had nothing to do with Svi, that’s all so that he can tell himself that by not signing kcp, the lakers could’ve used that money to pay Randle. Yes it’s unrealistic and unreasonable, but what are you gonna do, he’s obsessed.

He fits the role extremely well, without playing outside of it.

He and Hart both have that in common which is why I like their mentality a bit more than I do KCPs whom has moments when he thinks he's a superstar and tries to attack off the dribble which has always been a weakness of his and anyone that watched him in Detroit or here could see that.

Svi on the other hand, played point guard as well as shooting guard, so he can put the ball on the floor, as can Hart. They also seem to be disciplined enough to not try to be something they aren't.

It really won't matter though. If the Lakers stay true to the best player gets minutes motif, then Hart should eventually start over KCP and Svi will be backup 2, and KCP will be backup 3.

Start:
Lonzo
Hart
Ingram
James
Zubac

Bench:
Rondo
Svi
KCP / Stephenson
Kuzma
Beasley / McGee

I'd say that should be our 12 going into next season.

But the thing is, you'd have people look at KCPs one year deal and say he didn't get paid to come off the bench, but if it's "best man forward" then what he's getting paid shouldn't really matter, especially as he's only here this year. With Butler in their sights next off-season KCP will be auditioning for another team this season.

Which is why it's great that we have both Hart and Svi.

There was some confusion about how the signing went down. First, we heard that Lance reached out to LeBron to make sure he was okay with him joining. But not long after that we were told that LeBron called Lance up and recruited him. But recently, Lance pretty much cleared the whole thing up. Magic was the one who called Lance, not LeBron. And he told him that LeBron was ”interested” in them becoming teammates. But that's obviously different from the misleading, ESPN-like spin that MJST put on it. He wasn't playing ”LeGM” and had Magic run off to obey his wishes. LeBron, like most star players, gets consulted on potential moves. And that's exactly how it should be. As Magic himself said, Dr. Buss did that with him during his playing career too. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it. This is just MJST, MJSTing with his veiled agenda stuff.

I know KCP isn't too popular right now. But I imagine he's our best perimeter defender outside of Lebron.
But I'm a big fan of Svi. There are enough minutes for both players.

Are there? We have a bunch of wings who are gonna get time. Between KCP, Hart, BI, Kuz, LeBron, Lance, Beasley(although I think he’ll play more 5 than 4) besides LeBron these guys will all be fighting each other for minutes and that’s not including the time where Lonzo and Rondo will be playing together. I think Svi is gonna struggle to get meaningful playing time this year.

Svi may be a long term piece. But I don’t see the minutes for him this year unless we move lance.

LBJ is getting 1 contract with us...his ability to hold us hostage without incredibly damaging his legacy in the process is slim and none...

And none just left the building.
