I actually agree.
I've been okay with most of the FO's moves, but letting J. Will go after a solid preseason was questionable to me. I don't like Kuz at center and prefer a 5 that can rebound/defend over shoot the three ball, but we'll see how Kuz works out as the season progresses.
However, as it currently stands, defense and rebounding still wins championships and ball games. We can't play like the Suns. Blazers milked that match up at the 5 spot and exposed Luke. Teams would be shortsighted not to exploit it in the future. Luke's gotta find a configuration at 5 that works defensively and for rebounding. |

In the best case scenario, improved shot with additional strength/bulk he could develop into a Taj Gibson type player.
Taj would be an excellent small ball center. |

This dude is the same height as Kuz and weighing only 8 pounds more....fail to see how this helps defend the paint. Should've dug up Bynum from the land of centers past if were serious about the defensive end. |

Williams has one thing that Bynum solely lacks, healthy knees. |

Firstly, 8-10 pounds of muscle makes a big difference. Assuming all these guys are at the leanness demanded by Magic, the weight difference is primarily lean mass. Secondly, all guys of the same weight are not built the same; Kuzma doesn't have a solid base. Williams appeared a little sturdier to me than Kuz. Third, even if he's only a marginal upgrade, he allows Kuzma to move back to the 4, keeps his legs fresher, and maybe his shot starts dropping again. Lastly, we need defenders and rebounders in general.
This isn't necessarily the upgrade I was hoping for, but I'll take anything right now. |

I'm just glad we get a guy who knows his role which is to get rebounds, dunk, and clean up garbage. Can't have Kuzma doing that and leading the 2nd unit. |

It is a very scary thing that the Lakers second best defensive bigman was the 3rd best bigman for GU two years ago. _________________ How can I get a copy of a Laker game played on Sunday, March 11, 2001 Sonics/Lakers? If you know PM me please
I would be willing to pay you for it. |

I think we found us our back up 5... _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' Whatever, pow, three. I love the Zen, though." |

He just earned himself a roster spot over Zu today. He's a mini-McGee |

He defends much better than Kuz or Zubac. That's been the problem the first three games, lack of a defensive presence when McGee sits. |
