Wow, it is hard to answer because I've never really thought about not being a Laker Fan. I moved to LA in 82(age 13), and all of my friends played basketball, so I did too. Everyone watched the Lakers, so I did too. My dad and I got hooked immediately, and I got better at the sport, and grew a couple inches, so my experience with playing concided with Showtime. 1985 was the big year for the Lakers, and I started Varsity then, so I ate, slept and breathed Lakers basketball.
I guess that hasn't really changed. I am thankfull that the Lakers have given me so many great memeories that I share with my family and friends. Great times. |

I was born and raised a Laker. My family loves the Purple and Gold. I can't imagine not being a Laker fan. |

Been a die hard Laker and Raider fan since the age of 8..... 1983-84....
I'm proud to say that I have ink of both teams logos on my skin.
The bandwagon gene does not exist in my bloodline!
My older brother and cousin pretty much force fed the Lakers on me at a
young age and I havn't looked back.
Favorite Lakers not in any particular order would be....
1-Chick
2-Maj
3-Worthy
4-Cap
5-Coop
6-B-Scott
7-Nick da Quick
8-Kobe
9-Shaq (yea i'll admit it he WAS one of my favorites)
10-Big shot Rob!
Honorable mention
Silk , Rambis , AC , 0-Woolridge , The thief going to his left , Eddie Jones , Fox , Fisher... _________________ 16 and counting.... |

Late 80s Showtime years. Chick was in top form. He didn't call games as much as he was calling the whole season. Every quarter and possession seemed to matter as an issue of world history. With Riles giving a guarantee of a repeat, and Magic, Rambis and Coop showing up every game to play their hearts out, just about everyone was on a mission. The expectation was that we would have the jello jiggling in the fridge every game. It was a blast. And it still affects the way I watch games. Sometimes the only one with that same kind of determination and passion is Kobe. |

Similarly to some of the people on this board, I was a Lakers fan since age 4. I had a game with all the 24 or so NBA team logos at the time and I picked them as my favorite team. My great aunt in California heard that I liked them so she started sending me Lakers shirts and has never stopped. I probably have about 30-40 Lakers shirts. Anyway, I've been watching almost every televised game and true to the Lakers since then. Also, the recent Jordan era put so much hate in me that I know I will be a fan of the Lakers until the day I die. The redemption in Shaq and Kobe was truly a dream come true, and I thank Jerry West for that.

Magic Johnson and my dad grew up in Long Beach. Plus, I have a lot of family in Orange and Anaheim, and I love LA. |
