It reminds me of the old Cavs team when LeBron first came into the NBA...with just more talent / potential. I actually think chemistry of this team will be awesome if Luke can get everyone to buy in to their roles.
Minutes allocation and buying in is the key. I imagine a starting unit and reserve unit that plays hard and full of energy every game. Cheering each other on and really playing some good defense.
That was kind of the 07 Cavs formula. Really stingy defense and they found ways to score and won like 60+ games.
WE'RE GOING TO SURPRISE A LOT OF PEOPLE. |

Not really a surprising team. Lebron has a real supporting cast now. Warriors will coast in the regular season like last year and Rockets are gonna regress with less depth on their team now, CP3 older and Capela is still a mystery.
Lakers got a real shot at the number 1 seed this year. _________________ Darvin Scam: https://media.tenor.com/images/3c15249955860a4b16b59e8ae035fb75/tenor.gif |

I think that a 3-6 seed is possible, with more success in 2019. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

I can see us having some regular season struggles...go through some slumps trying to figure out lineups, etc......and make a playoff push. |

WHat are the expectations though?
Championship? I doubt it.
3-4 seed? MOre probable, but still going to be difficult. Lebron led the cavs to like the 4th seed in an inferior conference .
Besides Rockets and GSW, I think OKC and Utah will finish off with a better record. |

I feel like our supporting cast/young core is severely underrated by the media/other fans. I see us making a serious playoff run, with all our young guys taking the next step. |

The expectations with Lebron are that he plows thru the West just as he did the East. They won’t exceed the expectations. They may win 50 games with this supporting cast and I expect this team to contend. |

One game at a time mentality with the intention to dominate each. If we can start the season on a double digit win streak, I think that momentum would carry us through the winter. If by all star break we are a mere .500 team, we are a first round exit. _________________ DEAR BASKETBALL |

I predict 55-57 wins. Our talent is criminally underrated, and I don't think playing in the West is going to slow LeBron down. The team, along with James, are going to be motivated. They understand all eyes are on them. 55-57 wins. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi. |

I am really excited.
Listening for instance to Rondo's comments and watching Josh Hart in summer league....the arrow is pointing straight UP for our team, finally!

I agree with OP. With guys like Kuzma,Hart,Ball & Ingram growing and getting better, and I'm predicting a ROY level season from Wagner, along with the obvious addition of Lebron, I can see us winning between 56-62 games.
-My official prediction: 61-21 |

I believe in the talent we already had, and Lebron was the only game changer this summer. The only thing that can eff this up is if Maginka guts the depth to bring in Kawhi. |

I see something like this. If there is a championship, it'll be in the third year. |

People either think they're title contenders or they're gonna miss the playoffs. Since neither of those are true I'd say yes they're gonna surprise everybody.

Imagine the spacing everyone will have with LEBRON on floor
Or
Rondo creating easy baskets for the bench players |

Which I don't believe they will. They haven't yet for a reason. Pretty sure SAS is salivating at the idea of nabbing Kuzma AND Ingram for an expiring KL. Not going to happen, not under Magic's watch and also because the man is a FA next summer, and if by chance he doesn't work out for us, the options to pick up other superstars is available. No need to panic and gut the team. We're good as currently constructed, and will be great once we add that missing piece next summer. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi. |

Lakers aren’t supposed to surprise people, we have a potential all-time great on the roster, people are gonna expect us to contend for titles, oh and btw we are still not done making moves. |

Exactly. We need to be like GS, keeping home-growns and adding to it. Trading for players is analogous to trading buckets when you're down in the 4th quarter. You need to go on runs, not trade buckets. Adding talent without losing talent. |

One of the main reasons I'm against signing Melo.
Imagine GS stunted the growth of Klay, Green and Curry by signing shoot first vets when they were still on the up and up. Might have ruined their chemistry and missed out on a championship.
I've conceded that I could be wrong about Carmelo, and he could have a breakout season next year, more power to him if he does. Would just prefer he showcases his talents elsewhere. _________________ I miss you Kobe. I miss you Gigi.
