I want to see this lineup.

Hart
KCP
Ingram
Lebron
Kuzma.

Defense might be off but they can score the basketball.

I think everyone is selling Zu a bit short because of last years summer league and year in general.
He looked a lot better at years end and think he will probably start or be second off the center bench.
I can see him getting 15+ minutes a game and build on that if he is producing which I think he will.

I think Zubac is the back up center. I can't see a rookie starting the season being the back up. Maybe Wagner earns the spot in time though.

I'm changing my mind on Zubac/Wagner.

If we are going to be defense-oriented, then maybe Zubac does get the nod over Wagner. As people have said over the last two pages.

What's nice is we have some versatility. We can go rim protector and defense at center, or we can go floor spacer. And 2 of the three options are young, also, and could be around for many years to come.

My only thought about Wagner over McGee and Zubac is for spacing purposes, particularly when one of Zo/Rondo is likely to be on the court at the same time.

But if we are stressing defense, then Zubac would fit that model better than Wagner would (it seems like, although Wagner seemed to be starting to figure things out on defense as Summer League went on).

I like that lineup its fast but still has speed and can switch on every thing.

the second unit looks solid too

Rondo KCP Lance Kuzma and Deng two ball handlers in Rondo and Lance 3 two shooters and a center who can shoot the 3.

When you add the 10mins LBJ gets from the center position from lakerican's depth chart it makes sense. I could easily see Kuz get only around 24 real game minutes when you dont adjust for inflation. But he could get some time at center also

PostPosted: Sun Jul 15, 2018 8:33 pm    Post subject: Will there be minutes for Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk ?

Some interesting stuff as always in DB's thoughts and ratings, this time about Lebron drawing in defenders so he can kick it out to the open Svi for three.

But that brings the question: will svi get minutes? Barring injury, KCP and Hart will be fighting for the shooting guard minutes. At small forward, there's Ingram, James, Kuzma, Stephenson.

How are we going to find minutes for our sharpshooting rookie?

Team health, trades or Lance might give Svi a chance to crack the rotation. Lance has played with 5-6 teams. He has only played well for the Pacers. It is good the Lakers have depth behind Lance.

In the unlikely event Lakers trade mid-season for either Butler or KL that will likely take a bit at the Lakers young core .... likely leading to minutes for Svi.

Barring injury, only during blowouts or late game when game is in hand.

I could see him getting spot minutes when they need shooting

I would love to see James under 30mpg for most of the year.

Take advantage of the depth and young legs. In marquee games and in June he can increase mpg as needed. But 28-30 mpg would make me ecstatic.

I like this...maybe Kuzma gets a few more minutes depending on his production for that particular game.

Lebron 30 min or less for 85% of the games would be great...after Cleveland had him playing all those heavy minutes.

Death lineup:
Lonzo
Hart/KCP
Ingram
Kuz
Lebron

lebron doesn't need to play 36mins on this roster.

Also Lebron doesn't need to play center and bang against big guys. too much wear and tear at this stage of his career
