Play-off Rondo wreaked havoc on the lowly Blazers.
17 points (8-10 fg), 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals. |

+28 Tonight
Rondo read those silly stats about the record with Zo starting vs Rondo starting and said, "Hold my Beer" |

The Lakers front office hit the free agency out of the park with the Lebron, McGee, Rondo signings. Lance on a tier below. Beasley, well can't win them all. |

Actually just confirmed the overwhelming hypothesis that Rondo is best on the bench, and Zo starting.
Who finishes comes down to who ever plays well. |

Yup, Rondo single handedly let the scrappy bunch of Hart, KCP, Zu, and Lance to build up the lead, and wasn't nearly as effective closing with the starters. Loved the way he was barking the whole game and just taking control of player movement and communication. |

Zu mentioned that Rondo was calling out all of Portland's plays like he did in the playoffs
Signing him was worth it for the 4 games (and potentially more in the postseason) against Portland alone? |

Yeah. I should of worded it differently. Lonzo had a bad game but still not ready to change the lineups around. The real dumb stat was the one about Lonzo playing 30 minutes vs Rondo playing 30 minutes.
Rondo, KCP, Lance, Hart + Center could be our bench moving forward. Rondo seemed to highly benefit from Zu's screens. With Tyson's arrival it should be even better. He has made a living off setting screens and playing defense after all. We even have the option to go big with Mo coming back and whatever we get from Bease

Rondo was great tonight. +28 in 26 minutes. That's impressive. |

Played like a true floor general tonight. Controlled the tempo, set up the offense, directed teammates where to go, took what the defense gave him. Just a coach on the floor. This is what I always knew he could provide. Not every night, but he will win us a few games this season by doing what he did tonight.
I think Stu mentioned before the game that he was our best 3pt shooter. I haven't verified but that just shows how far he's come as a shooter. Late bloomer like Jason Kidd. Rondo said after the game they were playing him to pass-first, so he looked to attack. Smart player. |

He should’ve done that to CP3. |

Flipping back a page or two in this thread is comical. Many here need to apologize and make amends for their extremely negative comments about Rondo. _________________ A creative scorer, a wing defender, and a shooter. |

Gets relegated to the second unit and comes in early to practice with them to watch film and figure out how they can execute better. Hard not to like this guy. Especially after spitting on CP3. |

B4 making comments on Zu, let’s take a look at Lakers drafts lately:
Randle, Clarkson
Russell, Nance
Ingram, Zubac
Ball, Kuzma, Hart
Out of 4 lottery pricks, none of them deliver so far. For those late first rounders and second rounders, we thought we had a STEAL at the beginning, but let go finally too. The problem may not be on the players, but the FO or coach too.
I observed that: late first rounders and second rounders could meet exceed the expectations quickly but lottery picks were frustrated all the time. |

Rondo and the rest of the team are still getting used to each other.
GREAT win at Portland to snap that brutal losing streak and better things are ahead as the schedule evens out and these guys get to know each other better.
I am still bullish on the Lakrs prospects THIS season. _________________ Love, Laker Lanny |
