He will still have to play some games just to get his sea legs going.
But yeah, I’m a believer in the church of Playoff Rondo. May he reign once more in purple and gold to acquire the 18th gold, the most in the game!
Yea, he will have to play a few games to get him going. He's very experienced already so he doesn't need that many games. Having that much rest would do wonders for someone like him and Lebron. The pandemic might have been a blessing in disguise for the Lakers. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024
August 6, 2004: Traded by the Los Angeles Lakers (as a future 2006 1st round draft pick) with Rick Fox and Gary Payton to the Boston Celtics for Chucky Atkins, Jumaine Jones and Chris Mihm.
February 24, 2005: Traded by the Boston Celtics (as a future 2006 1st round draft pick) with Tom Gugliotta, Gary Payton and Michael Stewart to the Atlanta Hawks for Antoine Walker.
August 19, 2005: Traded by the Atlanta Hawks (as a future 2006 1st round draft pick) with Boris Diaw and a 2008 1st round draft pick (Robin Lopez was later selected) to the Phoenix Suns for Joe Johnson.
June 28, 2006: Drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the 1st round (21st pick) of the 2006 NBA Draft.
Love Rando. He is the one remind me of Kobe. The competitiveness, the desire to win... glad to have him in purple and gold. Glad Lakers keep him and KCP after all.

He was drafted by the Lakers first round pick.
It was crazy on here that draft. If I remember correctly, Mike (@) LG was really high on him and as we approached our pick and he was still there, everyone here then was hoping he'd fall to us (he didn't, we ended up with Farmar).
I don't care if Rondo shoots at 15%, averages 7+ turnovers, and plays no defense during the regular season. No one is allowed to criticize anything he does during the regular season. Playoff Rondo is all that matters.

Don't forget his bball IQ and attention to detail as well
Vogel believed in Rondo. Called him a 20 to 25 minute integral part.
It was all a vision.
When your vision becomes reality, and it is from hard work. That is just beautiful to see.
There’s only few here that really believed in him and I am that ardent supporter. I have doubts here and there but when I saw him against his arch nemesis CP3 and OKC without Lebron and AD, I knew he has another gear. And that Playoff Rondo always sticks subconsciously knowing proven vets usually show up when it matters.
But when it was go time in the playoffs, Playoff Rondo really came to life. Really thrilled to be wrong about Playoff Rondo! He's now a Lakers legend. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals
I remember hearing back after the year the Celtics lost to the Lakers in the finals, Rondo said it hurt so much passing by staples center because it reminded him of how close they came to a championship after blowing a 13 point lead.
This time, he got the championship with the team he lost it to..
I figured there was no way Rondo was going to let this one go.
Playoff is what really counts. Regular season is more like warmup unless you have a team on the brink of playoff standing and need the wins.
I hope 2021 would be a shortened 41-game season starting in February. That would be super ideal for the Lakers because of old man Lebron and Rondo. Would be so perfect to put less mileage on these guys so we could utilize them for more years. _________________ Playoffs is good enough. - Jeanie Buss 2024
Rondo just told SAS that the clippers are trying to get him
Actually it was SAS who mentioned the Clippers. Rondo said he is not thinking about the free agency now. Will talk with his agent and there's 2 months left for that. Also talked about the possibility of returning to the Lakers.

Great segment. Love this dude. Great competitor. Mamba Mentality. We don’t win without him. Period. Shoot 3’s. Drive to the hoop. Offense looks better with him in. Ball Hawking James Harden. Grabbing his arm in front of the refs. _________________ “You have to dance beautifully in the box that you are comfortable dancing in.” - Kobe Bryant
Rondo is expected to opt out of his current contract according to NBA sources on twitter.
Because we have his early bird rights we can offer him 105% of the league average salary without impacting our salary cap. That is 1.05*7.7 mil = 8 million.
Which is way more than the 2.5 he would have received and he earned EVERY LAST CENT, come back to us Rondo
I'd like us to sign rondo to a short term cap friendly deal and segway that into an assistant coach position. He seems to have good rapport with Vogel and the rest of the players.

Dude is a basketball genius, but his prickly, stubborn personality will always hamper him if/when he goes into coaching imo. It'll be interesting to see him try to make that leap when his playing days are done. _________________ "Chick lived and breathed Lakers basketball…but he was also fair and objective and called every game the way it was played."
