I hope Nick is right but he’s not exactly the news source kind of reporter, just a talk show host. Clips fans really think they’re the ones getting RR _________________

Better the Hawks than the Clips. Get that money, Do!
(Better the Hawks spend their money on Rondo than KCP for us, less comp for KCP?) |

If the money is close, he probably goes to the clippers. They will want player/coach Rondo to give them all the Lakers tendencies and secrets.
Let’s hope Atlanta is ready to overpay for veteran, high bball iq to help Trae. |

Nothing against Rondo for taking the money if he infact does. I will welcome him back on a good deal, but if he is getting 2 years full MLE, thanks Rondo. Happy the Lakers would not match that deal, and if you look at this thread, I was one of the few dudes who supported Rondo before he proved what a great support player he is.
The core of this team is AD and LBJ, and Franks defensive vision and coaching style. All the other parts are interchangeable, IMO. |

Hawks maybe. I don't buy that the Clippers have money to pay Rondo more than the minimum--which is what he can get from the Lakers. The Clippers have $115 million in salary and Harrell to re-sign as a free agent. Harrell's salary is going to take the Clippers awfully close to the luxury tax line of $132 million. Will the Clippers pay luxury taxes to sign Rondo for more than the minimum? If he gets a minimum offer from both the Clippers and the Lakers does he choose the Clippers???? |

Clippers will pay the luxury tax. The real question is will they pay the full MLE and get hard capped?
Other than Atlanta, Lakers can offer Rondo more than the Clippers. |

I am curious to know who is getting the info that the Lakers and Rondo are preparing for a split because of the Schroeder trade. All just seems like speculation to me. Are they really hearing the Hawks or the Clippers are prepared to offer their entire MLE? Like many have said already, if so, then good for Rondo and he should take that.
But if the salaries are close (and they should be), and we have his early bird rights, shouldn’t we have a decent chance as well? If anything, acquiring Schroeder should help convince Rondo to stay as he can rest during the regular season without much consequence, then in the playoffs, he and Schroeder should be able to play alongside each other in the same way that CP3 and DS did, since DS can play off ball as well.
I’m still holding out hope we keep him. |

Agree.
At this point, experience is very valuable.
Rondo is still able to give his best value for the dollars he deserves.
Rondo can really guide the new addition to be a better PG.
AD and Rondo are closely related as teammates as well as college background (kentucky wildcats).
Don't piss AD off. _________________ Kobe's Top 5 Dunks, 81 points, MJ last gm @Staples |

If Rondo goes to Atlanta it's ok, if the Clippers try to sign him we should bring him back. |

ATL would be a great spot for him. Gets to mentor Trae. Clips is such a drama filled environment. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

I think Rondo has told the Lakers his intentions for weeks. I think he goes to Atlanta to mentor Trae Young and get a raise.
Thank you playoff Rondo. |

Rondo would be a good fit in ATL. I wouldn't be surprised if they get Jrue this off-season either, if they get both Rondo and Holiday that's a playoff team
At least if he goes to the East, we won't have to face Playoff Rondo nonetheless, thank you for your service if you do leave, Rajon _________________ #18 next... |

Or maybe he told them his intentions were to play somewhere where he didn’t have to play heavy minutes all season and the Lakers were like, okay give us a couple weeks and we’ll fix that, and here we are?
The media has been sending Rondo off to anywhere other than the Lakers ever since the Finals ended. I’m really hoping we can play another “The Media Being Dead Wrong” montage about this whole deal again next week. Crossing my fingers hard here. I just think he’s even more perfect here now that we have Schroeder as we really won’t have to rely on him as much. |
