Pursuit ended in Silver Lake. Suspect bailed out and exchanged fire with officers. He ran into Trader Joe's and apparently shot people in the store and is now barricaded, possibly with hostages. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

Was a family dispute originated in South LA, suspect shot his grandmother and apparently his girlfriend? Stole his grandmothers ride, led police on a chase and is now barricaded at the Trader Joes in Silverlake. SWAT team are lined outside the store.

PURE SPECULATION: Fortunately this doesn't sound like a situation where this guy is heavily armed. If he fled a domestic dispute after firing his weapon, it'd be surprising if he took the time to grab extra weapons/ammunition. Sound like he was just trying to get away.
If he has fired several shots on scene already, it's a possibility he has a single weapon that's a hand gun and is out, or next to out, of ammunition. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

The grandmother was shot 7 times by the suspect. There was a bystander inside the Trader Joes, whom was a female, was shot and killed during the gun battle. Another person suffered a grazing wound to the head.

I have a sick feeling that was thanks to police return fire from some of the descriptions of the guns fire as the suspect headed into the store. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

It hasn't officially been confirmed but based on what I am seeing, the cops were the ones who killed the store clerk.
The fact that the suspect handcuffed himself before leaving the store speaks volumes. Also the fact that all first responding officers have not been released from the crime scene is a dead giveaway (poor choice of words).
I hope I am wrong, but the evidence is telling me otherwise.
Truly a bad day in LA. One more black eye for the boys in blue.

So was the cop just shooting in a general direction but basically shooting blindly?
The cops who pulled up as the gunman bailed out of his car and into the entrance of the TJ's fired at the entrance to the store as he entered. They have released their body cam footage. _________________ You thought God was an architect, now you know

I just looked it up. I don't know how to feel about this. Regardless, my thoughts are with the family of the person who lost their life.

i just saw. i'm on the fence on this one. now granted the video cuts off at a certain point so we really dont know if they fired more shots after the video cut off or not. I guess someone at the incident will have to come forward with that info. But as it seemed. I can kind of see how they would try to shoot him as he first hopped out of the vehicle because you dont know what he may do in that store. I saw someone with white on inside the store coming towards the front then the shots were fired then they walked back in further. I wonder if that was the person that was killed or someone else that was lucky to still be alive. You see that guy in the car getting out all non-chalant as if he cant hear the sirens and the shooting. like bro Get back in the da... car.

LAPD just cannot win. The new chief takes over and this is how his tenure begins.
Of course we all feel terrible for the victim, but I cannot even begin to imagine the grief that the officer feels. If it were me that killed an innocent civilian I would probably just blow my own head off and be done with it. I could never live with it.

the day after it happened, I read an article that insinuated that the perp shot the store employee.....and just basic logic screamed that was not the case. It was fairly clear what likely happened....the employee took a stray bullet from the police as the suspect was fleeing into the store. I am not passing judgment yet, but there needs to be an external investigation.....there is a reason cops are not supposed to be shooting at a fleeing vehicle in populated commercial or residential areas....because it is better the suspect get away that to shoot an innocent civilian.
