I know Pete's work, so thanks for the introduction but its not necessary. I've been around here a very long time.
I disagree, he is not a good podcaster. I bet he's a great guy, but he seems burned out. It's understandable if he's working a 9-5 job and uploading daily. |

I find Irwin to be meh. He would improve if he stopped with the cringe-worthy humor. He should go back and listen to himself. Maybe he'll realize that his jokes were terrible and that they got even worse the longer he lingered on them.
I'm a father who is very well known amongst my kids and their friends as a "dad-joke" kinda guy. And even I get annoyed by Irwin's jokes!

It's definitely not adkindo or BVH, I don't often agree with them but they are solid posters here just the same...but Anthony could be one of the others for sure LOL.

Current Laker podcast hosts I'd take 1000x for a "daily" show instead of Irwin. He's fine in small doses. He might be good on the Ringer battling their East-centric hosts (and their lone Clipper stan, Isaac the Producer). He's fine when someone claps back on his VLF-esque attitude (no offense, VLF). It's fine to have a contrarian on a message board but listening to one is grating.
But the impulsive takes, negative rants on FO moves that need time to bear fruit, and his interviewing style with "national" guests like Bontemps & Vecenie (never pushes back on their uninformed opinions of the team or team strategies), and oh, his frequent insults of "casual" Laker fans, nah dude. It's a no-go.
GT was added twice a week to make Locked On tolerable. Irwin-only shows (like the mailbag) are a skip for me. If GT & Darius were on daily-ish, we'd be set. And I'm sure he's a homey & hosts awesome parties & makes great drinks but Laker fans deserve better.
We need an alternative, informed daily-ish podcast. Maybe Lakers Ground: The Podcast needs to be a thing  |

If everyone agreed and was level headed all the time, it would kill the point of hosting podcasts or posting on a forum or tweeting. Every fan base should have a contrarian. It's healthy. Disagreement sparks debate and fun conversation. Anyways that's my two pennies but if you're asking me specifically about his hosting and podcasting chops, well...

I threw MJST, Adkindo, BVH, VLF out there as possibilities because they have on occasions had the same takes as Irwin, NOT every time.
I feel they are also good posters. I often come here and enjoy their views on the kids, the front office and a lot of other stuff.
It's definitely psychological, but I'm not sure if reading their post's for me is more masochistic, because I know there's the potential my head will explode after reading their views.
Or is it just to reinforce my views and opinions, because a lot of times, I feel, I'm a little off in my opinion. Then I'll read one of their post's and let out a big exhale of relief and think, man Thank God I'm not that crazy. |

Irwin, Faigen, and Soriano are so sensitive, it's pathetic! They have to get thicker skins or get out of the business! Soriano is knowledgeable but he just loses his **** anytime someone gets on him. You don't have to tell us that you're muting or blocking people ego-maniac! JUST DO IT!

Hehe yeah I love me some Forum Blue & Gold but unfollowed him on Twitter. The writer & speaker are so different from the tweeter... twitterer... whatever. He's downright mean sometimes. (P.S. Daman Rangoola [sic] is a good follow, does he do podcasts?)
They can't all be LFR who is gregarious & gracious on all platforms (it's not like LFR can't clap back either, but he doesn't do it out of personal ego). |

your more optimistic than me....I think we may have just got past Van Excel for Tony Battie, but definitely would still be hung up on why Mitch did not demand Wade instead of Caron Butler.....and did we really have to move Eddie? |
