This has turned out to be a fun thread. I love slow news days at LG!

I don't announce it because I don't think people care, but I block and mute people all of the time. Just because we have small platforms to express our opinions doesn't mean that we have to put up with people's (bleep). It's pretty remarkable how rude people can be without provocation, and I don't know if people have an appreciation for how often it happens.

Actually like him better than Lakers Nation podcast (Trevor and Tanya are not listenable), LOLakers is actually pretty good, I like how they bring on other podcaster’s from other teams to get different perspectives

Pete(GT) and Darius is the best damn Pod cast there is, it's must listen every time it drops, if your not listening to them your doing Laker Famdom wrong

Totally agree — I don’t even subscribe to Lakers Nation (btw the female co-host is named Hannah, not Tania. Imagine you’re thinking of Tania Ganguli, who is a great writer for the LA Times).

Also agree that Pete and Darius are awesome. Wish they did more shows

Ahhh man your right, Hannah is not so great, Tania is a strong writer

My bad

I'm flattered that people want more pods from me & Darius, and I want that too. I'm gonna talk to him about it to see what we can do. The pod has always been more fun than career for me, but there's no reason it can't be both.

I'd like to get to twice a week once training camp starts, but there are obstacles to that.

There such a lack of insight from local AM radio it's sickening. They are either towing co. line, parroting national media hot takes, or completely bias against the Lakers - some of it is difficult to listen to.

Twice/week would mean my commute home wouldn't be hijacked by lame ars sport commentators that have been fired by the Lakers or are scared to be fired by the Lakers.

Do it for the people GT!

Even the compliments? 😝

Keep up the amazing work dude! Your work (amongst others) legitimizes how knowledgeable Lakers fans truly are. You make us proud!

Dude on twitter is the biggest clown. Spends 99% of his tweets bashing Kobe, Magic and all things Lakers to pander to NBA twitter and the anti-Lakers crowd.

Heh. Compliments are nice, and I appreciate yours, man.

But I'd settle for just "civil" on Twitter.

I'm a bad person for admitting this, but Hannah became 100% more tolerable after I saw her Instagram & Twitter. I had always pictured as an older person, like a fan since the 60s, listening to her talk and then I searched her profile

From a "media critique" perspective, she seems like she hits the "casual diehard demographic", but I'm all in favor of more female voices, such as Hailey on The Ringer, and one of Indiana Pacers casts have two female hosts, I believe.

Really miss Serena Winters, she'd be an awesome daily listen.

your more optimistic than me....I think we may have just got past Van Excel for Tony Battie, but definitely would still be hung up on why Mitch did not demand Wade instead of Caron Butler.....and did we really have to move Eddie?

DUUUUDE I almost threw up when they dumped Nick for TONY frickin BATTIE. Legitimately my first "sports fan heartbroken moment"... wait, was he before or after Ceballos? Cuz I had an unhealthy affinity for him too (even though Horry unquestionably paid higher dividends)

And yeah... Eddie for Glen Rice... imagining Phil Jackson coaching a Bryant/Jones backcourt... oh my god, you're going to make me cry

He's terrible. Not only is he clueless about basketball but he's incredibly rude to people on Twitter. He told some guys to f*** off who were simply trying to discuss why he was overreacting to Beasley last week. I refuse to support that dork.

Ok I see what you mean with Hannah, I’d rather look than listen but I see what you mean

Hannah does not add much, but its a sly way of the host to get to talk to a semi-hot girl once a week.

This is not a big issue because you can’t help when you were born, but my only problem with Hannah and HaileyOSomething are their ages. Hailey’s whole basketball life revolves around watching Lebron play. She could never make a good argument about Jordan because she’s never seen him. One day her CoHost mentioned John, Paul, George, and Ringo and she asked if they were biblically characters. Both women are knowledgeable about today’s game though, and I enjoy their commentary.

At the same time, I’m guilty of never having watched Kareem in his prime. I just know the balding, goggles guy.

Anthony is a guy like Steve Mason. He needs to play off of a more grounded cohost. Anthony I figure you are a lurker... keep up the good work, but your best work needs to have a cohost involved. No shame in that.

I quite enjoy Pete, Darius, and Harrison the most.

GT was the main reason I subscribed to The Athletic for two years.

OT: My shirt hasn't arrived yet. I wish you guys could have given it to Kawhi, and I could have just taken it from him here in Toronto.

I only listen to the podcast when Pete or Harrison is on with him, him rambling alone doesn't do it for me.

Can't believe some Laker fans don't love the locked on Lakers podcast! Those two guys are hilarious and informative.
The days of listening to AM sports radio were absolute torture...
