Ingram needs to sleep on Kobe's couch for the remainder of this off season.

People who are the best at a given field are rarely the best at teaching said field. And that "scrub" turned Oladipo into an all-star. Kobe's track record developing young talent thus far is what?

I think BI and Lonzo are going to be terrific players, but I remember Lonzo in particular saying he didn't have anything to learn from Kobe (or something to that effect). It bugged me.

right, some of the best trainers/teachers/coaches in sports spent a great deal of time setting on the end of benches. It is often their love of the game, and deeper understanding of the game that allows them to remain on the bench when their athletic ability is not on par with others. Judge trainers/teachers/coaches on their results, not on their path.

Might be time to give up this dream, guys. lol

Do you think it's weird he hasn't tried to create a relationship with Kobe?

Who says he hasn't? Just because they haven't been photographed on Instagram working out together, that doesn't mean they have zero relationship.

And if they don't - who cares? How many workouts did Kobe have with Magic Johnson when he was playing?

Who cares if the young guys are not being mentored by Kobe?

They interact daily with Magic and will soon with Lebron, that is probably enough mentoring already.

Loved everything prime Kobe did to help Lakers win championships, but I don't really care what he does now, just like I didn't care what Magic, Kareem, Coop, etc, did after they retired. Now that Magic is running the Lakers I care what he is doing again. I don't get the whole cult of Kobe thing.

I still think Ball will be a real good player

Lonzo will be a good player but Tatum could be our second option behind Lebron. Plus he has been healthy.

Lonzo is more transcendent then Tatum, Tatum is more of a Paul Pierce type.

Gotta admit, I'm curious about why our young guys don't work out with him and would love it if someone in the media asked one of the kids or Kobe about it.

He's the one on our team with the most to learn from Kobe. Dude needs to learn how to score.

I think that was LaVar.

kobe's track record is impeccable. everyone he speaks to on a semi regular basis and everyone who works out with him comes back the next season noticeably better than they were before. it happened with even the greats(bron and wade post olympics.)

it has happened with IT during his pre injury mvp run, it happened with Kyrie during his championship run.

Kobe is not your usual superstar player. He is a braniac when it comes to basketball. He loves watching film. Kobe is Neil DeGrasse Tyson of Basketball. It's hard for more physicists to teach the non super intelligent masses about the science. But Neil makes it seem easy. Same with kobe. Hakeem has trained quite a few bigs on the block since he left the league. So has Kareem both with great results.

thats not what he said. he said tatum is paul pierce. Paul pierce was not transcendent among other star players. paul pierce was very good. If he was transcendent among the stars like a kobe, that boston squad would've won at least 2 more rings.

Tatum is the real deal. You guys watch the playoffs at all?

Somehow, I imagine if we had Tatum, our findings would be different.

wow people dont read. saying tatum is paul pierce is not saying tatum is not the real deal. it means he aint no kobe or bron. but he is very good and going to be very good.
