You're preaching to the choir dude. I 100% agree with you. People coming here exclaiming that, "Now we're ready to go!!!" can't see the big picture.

As you stated: The Lakers got better, but theor two biggest holes still remain.

Dudley and Daniels should be next on the chopping block in favor of a creative scorer and wing defender.

Wing defender like???

Harkless isn't getting bought out, nobody is left

Creative scorer, looking at guys like Burke, JR, Dion, or maybe a buyout like Teague

Idk if anyone really helps that much that is currently available. Teague is an upgrade over Rondo though

Worst case scenario to me, Stephenson and Corey Brewer make this team more complete than Daniels and Dudley.

That is akin of replacing a shiny new penny for a corroded penny. Making moves to make moves.

Am I the only one talking myself into trading for Chris Paul this offseason? It would have sounded insane before the year, but he would fit in perfectly with Bron & AD as that pick n roll ball handler. Lakers won't do it because it would take them out of the running in the Giannis 2021 free agency class, but he would be deadly on this team. Kuzma, Green, Caruso, and a 2020 first rounder for CP3? Before the season the Thunder would have been the team to throw in a first rounder and other assets to get off that CP3 contract, now they can get real assets for CP3 probably, even with his terrible contract.

You giving up Lebron or AD for Paul? Because that is what it would take.

After watching him play for a few years now, Dillon Brooks is better than Kuz and Lonzo, ESPECIALLY w the fact he was drafted #45 IMO.

If JJ ends the season strong for Memphis, I wouldn't be surprised to see them offer him $5 million plus over multiple years. They can't attract free agents so he seems like a decent guy for them to lock in for a decent price.

Melton and Caruso on the perimeter creating havoc would be insane. Teams would struggle to score agains the Lakers with those and AD.

Stepheson might be a good signing.
He can play backup PG and plays ok defense.

Depends on if Rondo can hold that backup PG position.
He may have lost a step.

Can Caruso or Cook play backup PG?

Wait, what's good about Josh Jackson now? It looks like's gone from putrid bad to merely bad in a limited bench role.

Melton will be a restricted free agent and Memphis can match any offers.

He has made progress since the start of the Gleague. Primarily his shot selection has improved and is more under control on his dribble drives and not forcing at the rim.

I believe it comes down to how he performs in the summer league and his physical conditioning.

Prefer Tre over Tyus. Better athlete.

Tyus just reminds me of Cory Joseph who I am neutral on.

They’re also both young which means they’re gonna look to get paid.

Seeing as how THT is already an expiring next year, I think it would behoove us to actually get him some playing time next season. Sure, we could just match any RFA offer if another team tried to poach him from us, but I'd like to see him at least get run similar to how we used Caruso last season. Yes, even on a team that is a title contender.

We trade Green/Kuzma/1st for Spencer next season sign and trade?
Resign Morris
Pick up Dragic

Dinwiddie is under contract next season for $11.4MM, and has a player option in '21-22 for $12.3MM.

Also, if you trade for Dinwiddie, it would seem to be a poor use of the MLE to give it to Dragic. If we trade for Dinwiddie while losing DG and Kuz, would seem like we'd need to prioritize the MLE for a 3&D wing, and that's even if we retain KCP.

Seems like he's guaranteed to not opt in. Especially since he has that thing where you can buy stock in his contract.

It's the oldest trick in the book.
The less you see a player play, the less you see his crappiness.
The more you think a leopard will change his spots.
