You guys think we will re-visit the Derrick Rose trade talk in the off season?
It seems like we really wanted him this season but just couldn’t close the deal.

Danny Green was a pretty bad signing at 15 million a year...

Most people projected he would get $10-12 million per year for a four-year deal, and at least $12 million for a one-two year deal.

Yes, I wouldn’t say it was a bad deal. Unfortunately we got the out of his prime Green, I had always hoped we could have brought him in while in his prime.

I still think Green could come up big for us if there is a playoffs. He's the type of player to shoot lights out in a key game.
But I'm not saying he's worth what he's getting paid. At least it's a short deal.

It seems like there was some interest there. With or without Rose, it seems like Detroit would be good trade partners. Kuzma and Caruso seem like good fits in Detroit. They would sell tickets.

Selling tickets won't be a thing until the 2021-2022 season and I fail to see how D Rose provides more value than both those guys together when you can sign Clarkson for the MLE and keep both.

Any realistic free agents that can be a big upgrade to our bench unit?

I'm thinking getting Clarkson back and Crowder. Clarkson brings the scoring off the bench that we need and Crowder brings that larger framed winged defender to help us guard some of the offensively talented wing men.

I’m down, getting Clarkson and Crowder would be a nice little overhaul in the off season, good thinking KBandKB.

The question is do we have enough to get both of them and do they both want to leave their respective teams to get a lesser role here? Clarkson and Crowder seem to be enjoying their roles in both Utah and Miami but the good thing is that they're not attached to their cities as much since they both were picked up mid season.

We have the midlevel exception and that's it right? Do we have a room exception too?

It will be an interesting offseason. Right now, we are on the hook for $119 million. With the salary cap expected to plummet, I don’t know that the Lakers will even spend their MLE.

The big question, to me, isn't whether we add someone, but whether Dwight comes back for cheap.

I think the Lakers could end up signing Howard, Cousins and Cacock for next season. If McGee opts in, he could be used as trade bait. I could see Green/McGee/Bradley/Kuzma/Caruso/Cook going out in a trade. Hopefully KCP opts in. If he doesn't, I wouldn't mind signing him.

I don't see a lot of trade value on that list. But we'll see what happens

The interest didn’t include Rose, he didn’t want to leave Detroit.

I doubt what Rose wants will be a factor in whether Detroit trades him and to who. They are going into rebuilding move, so I expect they will send him to the highest bidder.

There was one rumor that Detroit offered us Rose for Caruso, a second round pick, and salary filler and we turned them down. There were also rumors that we offered that package to Detroit and they turned us down.

Wouldn't shock me if he headed up a Laker. As far as Kuz, I get the impression teams aren't interested in him, especially since his rookie contract ends next year. Will be interesting to see what happens to him. My prediction is that Kuz's rookie season will end up being his best, he'll end up on another team, and the hype will be over in a year or two.

Eh. Crawford is a 40-year-old shooting guard who hasn't played for two years and hasn't shot well from 3 point land for 7 years.

JR was a horrible signing. That man is so washed up and not good for a team

Not sure if any of those guys get playing time with Vogel because of their defense.

But I'm not saying JR is great on that end either.
