It's not really a ploy. He's worth a 4-year deal on the open market for substantially more than the MLE, and even if it's not Denver, someone will give it to him. He has to secure the bag at this stage, not worry about ring-chasing. He's "only" made about $21MM in career earnings to this point, and this next contract alone will probably be worth triple that. At 26, you have to cash in. Heck, Denver might even flinch and offer him 5 years.

Hopefully Victor regains his health because he is going to be a Laker. He was an incredible 2 way player (many sleep on his D).

I can't imagine Indiana playing ball, but if Oladipo turns out to be healthy, that would be a huge pickup and he addresses a serious need. Since Myles Turner is on his way out as well, maybe McGee could be packaged and open a starting slot for DH.

Sorry please explain a package from us to Indiana that they would take for Oladipo.

Did I say that I had one? I literally just said it would be a nice pickup and also send McGee off at the same time.

LOL...of course.... it would be an AMAZING pick-up. Problem is it's almost a certainty it won't happen because we don't have the assets.

That, AND we don't exactly have a great working relationship with Indiana after the George Paul malarkey.

The rumblings have slowly started in Indiana. Victor is potentially going to force his way out. He is a FA after next season. He has not looked good since coming back from the injury (and not looked good in the bubble). I think we make a hard play for him (buy low).

So the Nets would take Green, THT and a late first rounder for Dinwiddie...I don't think so.

KCP/Bradley instead of DG if they opt in works too ($ wise)

Yea. Instead of even thinking about Jerami Grant, we should keep an eye on Justin Holiday. I can't believe he shot 42% on pull up 3s. Most likely that can't be sustainable. But he was 40% on c&s 3s too.

Plays defense. Gets out in transition. Can't handle. Can't finish.
Almost a younger Green.

Only players who interest me on the Pacers are Doug McDermott and T.J.
McConnell... I prefer Oladipo going to the Clippers.

Yikes. That is a crazy overpay. Lakers might give up one of THT, Caruso, or Kuzma to get Oladipo. Two is even possible but unlikely. But they are not giving up all three.

not high on Oladipo either. he's been injured often recently, and his game is more of iso because he's not the best outside shooter there is. i don't know how his passing game is, but his calling cards since arrived in the league has been defense and penetrating, so i'm not sure if he works well with AD and LeBron.

Would Denver help us like that? I mean, Milwaukee did agree to send Brogdon to Indiana last year, but still. And that cost the Pacers a 1st and two 2nd's.

It would probably be more likely if a player sign-and-traded to us came from an Eastern Conference team. Davis Bertans! Haha.

Maybe to get out of a Gary Harris contract.

Bingo. Giving up assets to bring in a "name" who hasn't been productive or healthy the past two seasons is foolish.

Let's not overvalue our tradable pieces. They are fillers at best. Curious to see what Pelinka have up his sleeve.

Why would any team want to help the Lakers in any way? Especially in trade?
