No full MLE for Lakers if so.

If cap falls that much they will have amnesty clause

True that. Amnesty clause will save a lot of teams from luxury taxes. Win - win on everyone . Players that get amnestied still getting paid, owners avoiding luxury taxes and more teams will be more flexible even with the lower cap space. That can resolve a lot of issues temporarily while things get normalized after the vaccine.

If it happens , I can see DG getting amnestied.

DG has value around the league. We don't need to amnesty him

No reason to amnesty DG. Lakers aren't going to be in the luxury tax and will want his contract for a bigger trade. If Lakers amnesty anyone, it would be McGee (though maybe they can Amnesty Deng).

Rumour:

According to a reliable source, the Golden State Warriors have expressed a clear interest in Jeremy Lin. The Warriors’ core Curry likes Jeremy Lin’s way of playing and clearly expressed his hope that he can join the Warriors

https://hoopshype.com/rumor/warriors-interested-in-jeremy-lin/

He'll contribute quite nicely for the Warriors I think

He’s the only one I felt was overpaid . I supposed we can trade him and our first round pick to teams with cap space first. If no takers and the cap space fall below at least 6-12 mil and so will luxury tax follows and that will be more challenging for us to retain a lot of our core. It will create little flexibility to resign KCP, Rondo, Dwight and Kief without hitting the luxury tax and able to use the MLE and BAE too. I don’t believed Jennie will be keen in paying those luxury tax penalties .

If the Deng injury ruling went against them would they use the amnesty on that?

Would be interesting to see which players around the league would be amnestied. Perhaps the Lakers benefit from it?

Could see the majority of owners voting against it just because of the half dozen contenders getting ridiculous deals on impact players.

I would be excited if he’s back, still have a soft spot for him for keeping us close in games during the dark years.

I think he is more realistic than the often mentioned Tristian Thompson.

He could become a great option. Marks mentioned him a few weeks ago and he would indeed help shoulder the offensive load for the 2nd unit and more depending on injuries/load management. He was a good enough defender to play for a high standard in Utah. In other years he's a multi year MLE guy but maybe he sees himself as a showcase and comes back for a year.

Boogie will be back whether we like it or not.

The lakers stood by him through his injury and his domestic situation. He’ll probably be our starting center.

Not to my knowledge.

IF we get DH back, he should start; IMO. We don't know what type
of player Boogie will be upon his return, if we sign him. However, we
should ease him into the game to see what's there.....

I have a feeling Howard is a goner, so Cousins likely coming back makes sense then we can still sign a back up C... perhaps Arron Baynes.

I doubt Dwight starts if he AND Cousins is brought back.

Dwight has solidified his role as the spark plug off the bench. And to save his body for the playoffs. I could see him starting THEN but during the regular season unless Cousins gets injured again, it will be his.

The connection between Cousins and AD is strong.

Funny enough, I wonder if Chris Paul gets amnestied if the amnesty clause happens.

I think no matter who you bring in at center you give them a chance to earn the starting job in training camp.
