Be nice if we can snag Matt Thomas from Toronto as well. Dude is a cold blooded shooter |

Too bad on missing out on Ibaka.
Gasol would be better than Dwight on spreading the floor, but not for pnr, alley oops, rebounding, blocks, defense, and Jokic.
I’m so glad Kupchak is no longer with the Lakers. Hornets continue with bad drafting and free agent signings. |
That was exactly the PROBLEM with Dwight. He clogged the lane for AD.
We need the paint wide open for LeBron Schroder and Davis.
Gasol will camp outside snipping and getting back on defense since he is already at the 3pt line... |
That wasn't a problem. AD prefers playing on the perimeter. |

I agree regarding ring protection....we have nothing with Dwight and McGee gone...people keep talking about spreading the floor....we’re talking about defense. That’s where Dwight and AD dominated when together. No one could finish at the rim. Trez and Gasol will never do it. If McGee for Gasol goes down....Whiteside would be a good signing. 15 and 13 last year almost 3 blocks. Whiteside and Gasol can split 30 minutes...the rest to Trez along with playing PF |
Yeah I feel like Whiteside would be good insurance if this roster is no longer going to have McGee and Dwight.
It’s not the end of the world as someone will probably be available at trade deadline but I do think the Lakers have swung too much the other way in terms of sacrificing defense and rim protection.
If Whiteside is taking the minimum, need to scoop him up especially if Gasol/McGee+pick swap is happening. |

Trading a second round and Mcgee for Gasol is a no brainer. And if that movement helps to free some money to give it to Kieff the better |

Yes we had 2 athletic centers in Mcgee and Dwight but your only looking at the regular season. When playoff time come teams rotation is cut short and its no longer checkers instead a chess match.
Mcgee and Howard didt see any minutes in the playoffs except for Howard who had to guard Jokic(even tjough his effectiveness on Jokic looked like it was wearing off as the series went on). |

If we trade McGee just to clear room for a THIRTY SIX year old Gasol, I'll be very surprised.
And a bit disappointed |

I remember the Lakers were interested in Smith when he was a lotto talent coming into the league. Injury and poor player development derailed his career to date. |

Do you see Javale as a long term core piece or something ? _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

What if trading McGee makes it likely we bring back Kieff?

Do you not see how vital Javale was in the playoffs? He was amazing against the Nuggets and Heat. |

Mcgee will be 33 and was almost useless in the playoffs. |

No, but a big body who's rooted to the floor and on their last legs, who can only provide you with a bit of spacing and THAT'S ALL is not someone I'd give McGee up for. There's plenty of big bodies you can sign on the min. I'd take Boogie over Gasol for starters, even with his injuries.
I'd rather we trade to free up money to keep Kief. He provides a lot more to us than Gasol would. |

Does dumping Javale somehow give us flex to retain Morris?
I don’t totally understand the hard cap rules for a guy like that |

Especially vs Houston in the second round, same for Dwight(imagine having Harrel for this series). |

The Kings have been sent a signed offer sheet for Bogdan. They can no longer sign and trade him. So people can rest easy now that the Clippers won't magically pinch Bogdan |

Remember that series against Portland that we almost lost at the beginning of the Shaq/Kobe run? Arvydas Sabonis was 36 that year as well. Gasol doesn’t rely on athleticism so he’s not gonna age as much as someone who does.
Also, did you not watch McGee get thoroughly played off the floor the entire last season? |

I think you’re massively underrating Gasol, who is twice the player McGee is. I don’t have the energy to go 10 rounds on Boogie anymore. Hes not a viable player anymore. Gasol gives you elite defense, scoring touch, and great passing. Getting Gasol doesn’t preclude us from keeping Markieff. _________________ 14-5-3-12 |

To be fair, Gasol was bad in the playoffs as well. _________________ "Rangers lead the way!"
