Something small like Kuz for a couple picks? I still think we won’t pay him so he leaves next year regardless... need to get something for him, and his position is covered between Kieff, Caruso, and even McKinnie...

I'd say give him a shot to demonstrate his value with extended and consistent minutes while Lebron is load managing. It could also increase his trade value. Yes it might get worse but if we lose a 2nd round pick in a hypothetical trade I can sleep well with that.

I'd love to see Pau sign a 10-day and retire (do they do that in the NBA?) a Laker. As for adding him to take into the season, I'm not for that.

So we brought back 6 of our 9 guys from the playoff rotation and upgraded our talent significantly. I'd say this has been a success!

While I have questions about Harrell and Schroder come playoff time, with our roster now they're actually luxuries, so we can still run out a Caruso/KCP/Matthews/Lebron/AD lineup when we have too. Schroder I am more confident in, but Harrell is a a great bonus to have in our back pocket for certain match-ups.

We're definitely a better regular season team.

KCP/Matthews/Lebeon/AD/Gasol
Schroder/Caurso/Kuz/Kieff/Harrell

Just curious, who will run the offense when Lebron sits? Playoff Rondo was monumental for us in the playoff last year passing like Lebron while knocking down threes like Curry. Who will take his role? I assume Gasol would be able to guard Jokic cuz that's what it will really come down to. Lakers and Nuggets are gonna meet somewhere in the playoffs again and whoever prevail probably takes the championship.

The leading scorer off the bench last year in the nba. Point G. Dennis Shroder

Jordan McLaughlin would be a good 2-way signing or even a vet min signing.

I think they can do a 1-day contract.

Starters:
Dennis Shroder
Wesley Matthews
LeBron James
Anthony Davis
Marc Gasol

Bench:
Alex Caruso
Talen Horton-Tucker
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Kyle Kuzma / Markieff Morris
Montrezl Harrell

I think (hopefully the Lakers keep him!!) that Horton-Tucker could definitely be a rotation player with our bench, Wes Matthews working with him on his defense would be a pretty solid 'vet' for the kid.

I think if THT is in the rotation of the second unit, defensively they'll be both young and pretty darn solid.

Klutch client and there is nothing to trade him for.

Good, because I see THT as a solid bench 2 for us this year, moving KCP to the 3, Kuzma stays the bench 4, Harrell continues being the bench 5 like he was for his 6th man run, with Caruso running the show with the bench unit.

Of those two, I think I'd go with Dedmon to avoid any sort of personality clashes that Whiteside may bring. Sad that he has so much potential, but his attitude brings him down badly.

Whiteside is the better talent but I’m not sure he’ll be happy in the role. He’d be asked to do what Dwight did last year on a per matchup basis. I’d see Dedmon as more comfortable for that role.

I actually view the next center hiring as critical as if Marc Gasol goes out for any length of time we won’t match up against any big centers.

Everywhere else I see us able to overcome. Maybe another backup PG but it would be either a McLaughlin or Napier in that role.

Not yet, but here's hoping. Silver will probably deny it to prevent an owner uprising.

Should the Lakers take a flyer on Roberson? I know he can't shoot but he's back from his long-term injury and is a good defender. He could be good insurance if Caruso ever get's injured. But I know it's a risk as he was out for so long.

Because it's fact.

Unlike the Clips, however, everyone here realizes this is all on paper. Criticisms of our roster can be we got slightly less athletic on defense, and pure shot blocking decreased. With that said, I am more than happy with the changes. Ultimately both DH/McGee as a combo had severe limitations the deeper we got into the playoffs [only team we actually played like the regular seasons was vs the trailblazers]. This roster is much more shiftable with solid players for just about any scenario.

Dedmon would be great but probably wouldn't accept that role. Although I'm surprised someone hasn't scooped him yet so he might be humbled. Another one I like is Alex Len. I haven't heard his name floated around much in terms of leaguewide interest. He showed some touch two years ago (36% from 3 @ 2.6 attempts/game) with decent size, rebounding, and shot-blocking.
