IF Marc isn't playing next season but Lakers are paying him and NBA doesn't remove Deng from Lakers payroll that means Lakers will have ~$8M in dead money?
Good grief Charlie Brown!
If he retires we pay him his money but it’s not against the cap
Make it an expression shot. Our capsheet absolutely gets hit. It’s a meager amount of about 2.6m but it’s a hit nonetheless.
1st time the coffee thing was funny. 2nd time meh whatever
Damn...shoulda pulled a Costanza and left the room on a high.
Anyways let’s say Marc doesn’t retire...having him on vet min salary is still a win!
vas...thanks for all of your posts. It's looks like you've been pretty spot on for the most part. Rob looks like he's got this, but I hear there may be a job opening in Milwaukee. They could really use your help dawg. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

So training camp is scheduled to start next Tuesday. That would mean the Lakers had only 51 days off since they won the championship.
Good thing we will have 6-7 new guys
I'm assuming Bron may not play until January.
As much as he may not want to load manage and I would respect that...
If he intends on playing each game, then there better be a minutes restriction on him and AD until Feb. I'm fine with Bron and AD playing around 20-25 per until then. Let the new guys get the minutes and get acclimated to what we're doing.
Hope this is the plan if not outright load management. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

Awfully good offseason this year - I think this year compares in some ways to when we brought in Shaq and traded for the rights to Kobe.
Come on man, that idea is rubbish. I’m willing to go out on a limb and say that we didn’t add any future HOF player in their prime or one of the most dominant players ever. We can have a good offseason without looking like fools.
AD says Hi...
AD is a Laker, we did not add him this offseason. Simple? _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

I’m not sure, I would guess that we could. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023.

Apparently it's not...AD is a FA. That makes him, KCP, Trez, Morris, Marc, and Dennis all 2020 acquisitions even if they are retained.
Shaq/Kobe 96 was HUGE...but it wasn't realized for 4 years. And as immortal as Kobe is, we didn't know that about him in '96.
This group has the opportunity to realize it immediately.
And please stop using 'We'. Thank you. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

That's LG for you right?
Overreaction is the norm.
I remember coming in here after the game 1 playoff loss to Houston. Dudes were ready to fall on their swords, and Pelinka was being scapegoated as a buffoon who didn't surround LBJ and AD with the right players.
Now he is a god.
He has done an extraordinary job this off season IMO, on paper at least.
We are a better team than we were last season (on paper)
Of course we need to see how the games play out. _________________ "Rangers lead the way!"

That's interesting...perhaps we roll with him and get 2 serviceable players in the 3rd rotation plus Gasol for Javale and a 2nd...ok Rob. _________________ "If You're Afraid To Fail...Then You're Probably Going To Fail."

Wouldn't the trade have to happen before he officially retired?
By the way, Pincus was thinking the Lakers would just waive and stretch mark him if the plan is for him to retire. _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
This offseason was incredible. The Lakers will resign AD, KCP, and Morris. Trade for Schroeder and signed Harrell, Matthews, and Gasol. _________________ Nobody in the NBA can touch the Laker brand, which, like the uniform color, is pure gold.

then we'll trade that retired dead cap if we have to, there's also KCP's contract that should be easy to move to. Prob just need to officially submit the retirement paperwork after the trade is done, I mean all of this if Giannis coming

Yeah, I would think we'd waive and stretch. I suppose it could be used as filler in a trade along with some cash to make something work. And given our pursuit of a Deng injury exception, maybe that's a route they try, too, lol.
I hope Lebron doesnt practice nor play until January. He needs as much rest as possible going into the year. _________________ Naz Reid or Brooks Lopez are a must in the 2023 offseason!

Yea. We will have to see.
For all we know, Marc might play 5 more years lol _________________ 💜💛 🏆 👀 🍖 #18!!!
