There’s no update on Anthony Davis right now, other than that he’ll be reevaluated by the medical staff in the next few days, and we’ll likely hear from AD next week.
He’s been out with the left MCL sprain that occurred on Dec. 17 at Minnesota.
|
Will he return this year? I was thinking maybe after all Star break now I am not sure |
Always double initial injury timelines, especially from this team. |
Yeah they said around 4 weeks initially, which would basically be Monday. If I had to guess, we probably won't see him until early-mid February. |

Exactly, Jeannie buss is smart in a way she made sure fans see the $$$ she spend in players with big names, and hide the cost cutting measures the team adopts. |

They said he would be reevaluated in 4 weeks, but most medical people have said this injury is a 6-8 week return. My gut tells me they will keep him out through the all star break. |

That is an over pay. If we're depleting the only contract assets remaining, it should be for a need. Two-way wing. |
This team doesn't need another non defender Bield. |

Hield didn't impress me that much from the 4 games he played against Lakers. imo, he's just a younger and a tad more consistent version of Wayne Ellington. |

NBA Central
@TheNBACentral
According to
@therealmikekb
, the Sixers are NOT interested in De'Aaron Fox as the central return piece in a Ben Simmons trade
Sixers are (bleep) up really bad... |

They are on crack for last 14/15 years. Their owner has been one of the worst |

He’s been out with the left MCL sprain that occurred on Dec. 17 at Minnesota.

Always double initial injury timelines, especially from this team. |
Yeah they said around 4 weeks initially, which would basically be Monday. If I had to guess, we probably won't see him until early-mid February. |
After the injury, the Lakers said they would have an update in four weeks, which would be next week.
The fact that he did on-court activities last week indicate his healing is progressing well.
Now the medical and training staff has to see how he responds when he begins doing more lateral movement, which puts additional strain on the MCL.
While the Lakers haven't provided details, Davis has at least has a grade 2 sprain and perhaps a grade 3 sprain. If it's a grade 3 sprain, those typically take 4 to 8 weeks to heal, with additional time needed for conditioning.
My guess is AD is still 2 to 6 weeks away from returning.
It's unlikely the Lakers will provide any firm estimate on when he will return, because they don't want to have to retrack it if the healing doesn't happen as fast as they expect.
The sign that he is getting ready to return will be when you see him on the court doing drills that involve a lot of lateral movement. |

4 weeks was to re-evaluate him, not for him to return. _________________ RIP mom. 11-21-1933 to 6-14-2023. |

the fact that he started light workouts indicates that he is closer to 2 weeks than 6 weeks, but my god i hate to see the guy goes to the ground during games. |

Mediocre owner hires mediocre people resulting in a mediocre team. One championship in 8 years is actually very mediocre by Laker standard considering they were averaging 1 ring every 4 years under Dr. Buss. |

I don't think that's true. I believe she is passionate about the Lakers.
But, also, she has to answer to her other family members, so she may be under some pressure to keep profit margins at a certain level. I suspect she is not unmindful that Jim Buss is out there eager to push her out if he could get support from enough other members of the family trust. |
