Why would Kuzma be untouchable? Why does our FO think he's the one we have to keep? Ugh.

To have more cap space this summer probably

Which won't be needed when we have Lebron and AD and possibly another star on this team.

Guys that can defend and move the ball, both of which he is the worst at between he, Ingram and Lonzo.

Stupid FO.

I know most people here want to trade Caruso, Hart and 9 future draft picks for Davis but it just doesn't work that way.

Not giving up all three young players is a win for the Lakers in my opinion.

If you have to give up Lonzo and I gram and keep Kuzma, I am ok with that.

If you give up Kuzma and Ingram and keep Lonzo, I am good with that too.

But you can't make a deal for a top 5 player in the league without giving f up good young players...

I am good with this.

How can BI and Zo play with pure dedication... knowing they were not only shopped once... but now twice?

What a cluster f*ck

Dude, that in of itself is way too much for a superstar demanding a trade with 1 year on his contract. That's 2 #2 picks and a #4 pick. Not even Wilt or Kareem were traded for that much

WALK AWAY ROB!!!

TRUE but it is Anthony Davis pairing with LeBron - LA is also at title or bust.

But this is basically final offer or walk away status for me

He is not untouchable. He has the most trade value because of his salary vs. production.

He doesn’t have the most trade value lol. I read that as since the Lakers are already giving up Zo/BI/4, they don’t want to include Kuz as well.

Because the other two players and the pick being withheld are 100% deal breakers I'm guessing.

it amazes me that people still think reddick has something to offer on a team that hopes to contend. dude literally averages 10.9 points per game in the playoffs.

We just watched him average 13.4 PPG in the playoffs slashing 43.5%/41.4%/85% and was +39 combined across all games. Redick's shooting is still incredibly valuable and has the added benefit of spacing the floor for driving lanes.

on a team with Embiid, Simmons, Butler and Tobias.

Exactly. JJ is not worth what he seems to command but teams are desperate for shooters. Don't be desperate. This forum would hate Reddick within a few months and be looking for anyway to get him out of town

Asset tiers for me:

Tier 1: BI/ZO/#4
Tier 2: Kuz/Hart
Tier 3: protected future 1st, Bonga, Wagner, etc.

Why is a Tier 2 asset being protected more than a Tier 1 asset?

I don't think it's that he's untouchable so much as it's a cleaner fit keeping Kuzma around then Lonzo Ball or Brandon Ingram. Kuzma makes less than $2M next year, where as Ingram makes $7.3M and Ball makes a bit over $8.1M next year. Easier to keep their cap flexibility with Kuzma than with Ball or Ingram.

tbh, BI, Lonzo and #4 is a fair deal all things considered

agreed Ive been saying it ever since the lottery that BI+Lonzo+#4, NO Kuz NO Hart is fair market value
both BI and Ball are coming off injuries and had disappointing seasons overall.

imagine if GSW traded curry after his ankle injuries cuz they had monta ellis

if a prime Kobe or young LeBron were available during those days, GS would no doubt trade Curry. we're talking about AD here, not throwing away our young pieces just for the sake of trading for someone. getting AD most likely also means another max or near-max talent will be joining as well.

Makes significantly less than Lonzo or Ingram, and is a cleaner fit next to LeBron and Anthony Davis.

Griffin has ZERO other moves. If we had a GM with a brain, he would see that. 2 of Lonzo/Ingram/#4 is better than any serious offer he's going to get. And we're giving up all three because we don't know how to not negotiate against ourselves.

Seriously, you might as well have Magic doing this.

[Stein] The Lakers' ability to seal a deal for Anthony Davis likely hinges on what the No. 4 pick can fetch. If the No. 4 pick can land a player to excite New Orleans, on top of Ingram and Ball, then the teams are headed for an agreement in principle before draft night next Thursday

Kuz is the most consistent player next to Lebron... and with AD... makes more sense.
