I guarantee Pelinka is smarter than people like to believe lol

Name 1 move so far that shows this.

So far he has proven over and over again that he has no clue how to build a team.

Personally I don't agree with you. Magic showed he had no idea how to build a team. It's obvious he's the one that wanted Rondo Lance and Beasley because we had "too many nice guys".

I'm willing to bet the only thing Magic allowed Pelinka to take part in was the Clarkson and Nance trade. Because that took a little use of brain.

With that we gave up, you could have been the GM and gotten the same deal.

He couldn’t even get the timing right so we have room to sign a max.

I must have missed free agency passing by without us signing a max player.

Then bump KL, let's use the 32 mil to get some legit pieces.

We might not have 32. We might have 24. All depends on when the trade goes through, and so far reports aren’t encouraging.

Happy Father's day. Anthony Davis! In 2.5 years we turned Mozgov and Deng into Lebron and AD! We now have between $23M and $33M in capspace plus $6M room exception. Very excited for this free agency.

Normally I'd agree

But it's hard to say bump Kawhi. One has to think those 3 wouldn't lose to anyone... kinda regardless of who else is on the team lol

Based on everything said so far, this trade will be done on the 6th and Lakers will be short of max space.

It should have been part of the deal that this trade would be executed on July 30th. It wasn’t.

Annd where was the genius in getting a guy you could clearly have gotten in 2020 straight up and not having to rearrange the july 6-30 arrangement? Seem like Griffin worked him like a donkey

This is not just for you specifically but for everyone who’s worried about depth. Look at it this way, if we sign Kawhi or another max, that would give us three max players plus Kuzma. No coach in their right mind is going to have all those guys sitting at the same time. In all likelihood we will always have two of AD/LBJ/KL/Kuz running with three bench guys against the other team’s bench... game over.

What you've read is speculation because the pick is a fluid piece that could still get moved. Tania said the Pelicans are fine with delaying the trade, but they're shopping the pick and it's difficult to put iron-clad language in asking a third team to trade for a pick and draft a player they won't be able to see in Summer League.

It's going to depend on who ends up with the pick, and who that team wants to draft. If the team with the 4 pick is drafting Garland, they may not expect him to play in SL anyway so delaying until July 30 would be no issue. Right now, there's nothing definite so it's pointless to whine about it until there's actually something worth whining about.

If we are fortunate enough to land Kawhi or Kyrie in free agency then these are the guys that would seem to be the best options when it comes to our $4.5m exception and/or minimum contracts...

GUARDS: Alex Caruso, Ramon Rondo, Derrick Rose, Trey Burke, Iman Shumpert

WINGS: Reggie Bullock, Trevor Ariza, Wayne Ellington, Jeff Green, James Ennis, Darius Miller, Wes Matthews, Alec Burks

BIGS: JaVale McGee, Ed Davis, Nerlens Noel, Trey Lyles, Mike Scott

My guess is that Robin Lopez, Taj Gibson, Cory Joseph and Darren Collison will all receive deals north of what the Lakers can offer. Lopez and Gibson do strike me as guys that might be willing to take less in order to win... but I don’t see the Lakers offering their exception to a backup big, and I don’t see either of them taking the minimum.

Of those guys above, I’d be really happy if the Lakers could bring back McGee and Caruso, and add Matthews, Ariza and Shumpert. Also, I would highly expect the Lakers to buy a second round pick on Thursday.
