Based on everything I've read/heard from Dave McMenamin:

Finalized Date:

Lakers were "quite aware" that timing of the trade date is important.

Trade has only been reported, not made official. An agreement can be made but not legally documented.

Lakers and Pelicans likely have some sort of agreement about the finalized date depending on circumstances of whether the Pelians keep the pick or whether the Lakers can land a top star.

Teams can always re-negotiate and amend the date by including extra sweeteners to the Pelicans or 3rd team that comes into the picture. Griffin has worked with amended agreement dates before when trading Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love.

Trade Kicker:

Rich Paul is representing the best interest of his client so he will put out that his client will not waive his trade kicker.

If Lakers can land a top star, they can go to Rich Paul and Anthony Davis and ask them if they are amicable to waiving the trade kicker. Cases in the past like Kyrie Irving waived his trade kicker to help the trade to get him to Boston.

Cap Space:

The Lakers have 2 ways of thinking:

    - First one is to clear as much cap space as possible and get the full max.

    - Second one is they do not need to get the full, full max since all the players they are targeting (Kawhi, Kyre, Kemba, Butler) do not have 10 years experience and they may be open to looking for a 2+1 deal and sacrificing about $4 million per year for the first 2 years then re-negotiating after they hit their 10 year tenure where they can make more.

When it comes to analysis, McMenamin >>>>>> Woj and not even close.

I'm greedy. I want both! Seriously though, these are my favorite PGs that are realistic to acquire depending on how the FO uses their cap space.

I’m told that Kawhi Leonard will NOT consider the Knicks or Nets. The only teams Leonard will consider this summer: Raptors, Lakers, Clippers, sources say.

OK, this is the make it or break it tweet for him. If he's wrong, I will never post his tweet again (unless as a joke).

dude, nobody thought he was considering the Knicks or Nets. He gave you the two teams he is most closely tied to and the Lakers. My source told me that Kawhi will not be considering the Cleveland Cavs.

mods pls verify his source

I think it is 8% for their current team with Bird Rights....and 5% if they go to another team.

Ok, so if we have to make the Davis trade on the 6th, but Davis is willing to waive his trade kicker, and we trade Wagner/Bonga without any salary coming back... We would have 29.4 million in cap space and could give Kawhi or Kyrie a 2 year 60.27 million contract. At that point either one would be eligible for their 10 year vet extension. I think that might be enough to get it done. A team like the Clippers could offer 67 million over 2 years.

It depends on the type of contract. Find the appropriate row in the lefthand column and then go from there.

53. Is there a limit to the length of a contract, or to the amount a player's salary can increase or decrease from year to year?

Also read #54 immediately afterward.

Arye hasn’t been relevant since 2013.

He’s a has been.

Even in 2013 he never has inside sources unless they are waiters or parking attendants, he just stalks players and reports where they are and what they’re doing.

His sources are ESPN morning radio shows and scouring twitter and IG.

He is the twitter version of Peter Vecey, a has been.

On his twitter profile he says he's featured on 710 ESPN Radio. Do they bring him on as a guest? If so they have some credibility issues.

Yeah he was interviewed in 2013 from stalking Dwight’s hotel and restaurant meetings.

He hasn’t been on 710 ESPN since 2013

No defense no thanks. Gotta think how a player you give real money to will look in the late rounds. I’d guess he wants around 8M or more
