That would be unprecedented. A 100m+ buyout.
I think he gets traded to a team like Miami where they can send expiring deals there and maybe OKC actually sends a pick to Miami as a salary dump price. |
Pat Riley didn't want to pay DWade. Don't see why he'd want to pay Paul. Buyout seems like the most likely scenario. Even if it isn't ideal. |

I'm not ruling anything out--how can you with how this year's summer is playing out--but I think it would be an extraordinarily bad look if the president of the NBAPA takes a massive buyout. |

Houston is the 4th largest Media Market in the USA and has zero State income tax. I doubt it is in the bottom half of NBA player preferred destinations. |

They have so many draft picks that a team would take CP3 and a pick or two to take him on, with OKC getting at worst expiring deals back. But to walk up to your ownership group and say that we're paying someone 100m+ to NOT play for us, that's a hard pitch to make. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |

Has OKC ever bought people out?
They traded Melo to ATL and the Hawks bought out that 27.9M. |

I liked the Tyson pick up for the first few games and then disappeared and was injured for much of the season. No big loss. |

Yeah, Milwaukee has a new arena and a revitalized downtown area. |

I still dont get why Chris Paul and his contract is seen as so much worse than Westbrook...
CP3 - 3 years 124mil
Westbrook - 4 years 171mil _________________ (bleep) Kawhi |

The only way CP3 gets a buy-out is if he gives up $90m, which is not going happen.
There is no reason to buy-out CP3. Let him sit on the bench and pout all he wants. At some-point his contract will become an asset. |

For someone who gets a good amount of dunks, layups, and is so aggressive to the rim, that is putrid. |
MDA made Kendall Marshall look good. WB is gonna be scary with all that HOU floor spacing and 7 seconds or less. |
Except they didn’t really play that AT ALL this year. Tons of burn the clock while Harden or whoever had the ball dribbled it out and tried to attack or shoot a pull up three. Their offense was trash. It got buckets was probably the most predictable I’ve seen in years. |

Chandler played well the time he played.
In fact he helped turn the season around before the injuries.
Then father time caught up. |

I dont get Harden man.
He's 41.4% on c&s 3s. But he only takes them at a freq of 3.7%. How moronic. Guess what his freq on pull up 3s are.... 49.4% on 36.3% 3fg%.
And do you know what his wide open 3s are at? 46.1%!!!!
One would assume Harden should spot up more.
But something tells me he will NOT. What a moron. |
The only other playmaker on the team was CP3, who missed 24 games each of the last two seasons. And when he plays the coach staggers their minutes to always have a playmaker on the court at all times. His iso scoring numbers in the regular season are amongst the most efficient in basketball, so that's why he has the ball so much. |
This is like drinking salt water and trying to pass it off as 7UP.
The fit should be interesting. Let's see how long Harden agrees to play "off ball." |
For as long as there is someone else to adequately playmake. His usage didn’t skyrocket until Mike D came and implemented a system where one guy dominates the ball. And it was further enhanced with CP3 missing nearly 1/3 of the prior two seasons.
He will come off the ball for Westbrook like he did the last time they played together. He would come off it if the coach had a different system in place, just like he did before Mike D was hired. |

I don't see CP3 giving up all that money, I don't see the Thunder giving such a large buyout either. My guess is he will get traded from team to team until his contract is done. |

Pat Riley didn't want to pay DWade. Don't see why he'd want to pay Paul. Buyout seems like the most likely scenario. Even if it isn't ideal. |
A 100m+ buyout? If I'm an owner I'm firing you for that. |
Rather just keep him on the books for the full amount if he refuses to play?

No. There will be someone who would take him if you added a pick or two and they have 203,321 first rounders now. _________________ From 2-10 to the Western Conference Finals |
