Would have been nice. Mavs will be good barring injuries.

Irwin and GT felt that ESPN told Woj to calm it down on the Lakers slander. I can see that.

If I remember right we had interest in drafting him last year....but he's a SG and only 6'4....we need a taller SF that can D up.

Sigh only if this team still had Ingram & Russell. And Ball has the highest upside in my opinion.

Daniels likely feels like every 3 he gets up there is going in - and you obviously want that full confidence. His career-best actual percentage in wide-open 3’s (6+ feet, per NBA.com/stats) was 59.6% (31/52) in 2015-16. Last year in PHX he shot 47.9% on those.

Per Trudell

Not bad to have on the bench when needed or insurance policy

Caruso will make him or Cook expendable. Add KCP to the list too though KCP can be an asset if he plays smart .

There is no deadline for waiving a player. Sometime next March there is a deadline where waived players cannot be on the playoff roster of a team that picks them up, but players can be waived up til the end of the season.

It’s probably a stipulation in Smith’s contract.

Yes, the Cavs had a deadline today to exercise their buyout option on Smith's contract.

Sources: Waived JR Smith not headed to Lakers

Quote:
A reunion with former teammate LeBron James does not seem to be on the horizon. Sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the Los Angeles Lakers are an unlikely destination.

The Cavs have been looking to trade Smith since November because only a portion of his $15.6 million salary for next season is guaranteed. The team worked out a deal with Smith to extend his guarantee date from June 30 to July 15, boosting his guarantee from $3.9 million to $4.4 million, but were unable to find a deal.
