Sefolosha is the obvious option if no Iggy.

Plus defender still on the wing and shot about 44% from 3. He should already be on the team instead of Daniels tbh.

Deng coming back and resurrecting some of his game would be a good story, I remember when we played the Wolves last year, he showed more in that game with the Wolves then he did his whole season with the Lakers so maybe he still has some game left.

If the Thunder weren't paying Paul, they'd be paying Westbrook. From a salary standpoint, he's a wash.

Report: ‘No appetite’ among some NBA teams to take on final year of Chris Paul deal

The Thunder are running into the same problem the Houston Rockets had: Paul’s contract is nearly untradeable unless the pot is sweetened with extra draft picks. That runs counter to what Oklahoma City is trying to do, which is stockpile future first-round selections in order to strengthen their rebuild.

Ultimately, they’re reportedly open to keeping the point guard, largely because, at this point, they may have no other choice.

If Chris Paul truly ever cared about winning, he should ask for a buyout. He would have to take less obviously, but that is the price to pay for wanting a championship.

50 million less likely wouldn’t be enough, not even close, to get OKC to buy him out. He’d have to surrender probably at least half of his contract, and even then that probably won’t be enough. OKC has no desire to have a huge amount of dead money sitting on their cap for years, so Chris Paul would have to take a massive discount on his contract to make it worth their while. Otherwise they’re better off just playing him for his name and ability to put butts in the seats. They might even be good enough to compete for the 8 spot with Paul, but if not, they can “load manage” him if they want to tank.

Chris Paul didn’t steer the CBA to maximize his (and Lebron’s) late career earnings potential to surrender that money now. A buy out is a near zero possibility, IMO.

Didn't know Thabo is older than Deng. I haven't followed his career in a long time. How did he look last season?

Lakers need a backup SF, just an idea, what about Corey Brewer?

I thought the rumor was that Corey told PG13 to steer clear of the Lakers after we waived Brewer and he went to OKC for their playoff run a couple seasons back. If that isn't true, I have no issues with bringing him back. Great energy guy.

Not sure if it's true or not but it does make some sense. What I've learned over the last two off seasons is that Paul George does basically anything another player tells him to do.

Yeah, he may be the mentally weakest player in the game today.

I see all the talk of a buyout, but I don’t think OKC wants one. OKC didn’t even want to eat any of Melo’s $$ in a buyout.

Better than a wash. One less year plus two picks.
