Just hypothetical

IMO Clarkson coming here is more realistic then getting Iggy.

That would be a pretty awful decision imo.. We're extremely guard heavy right now.. Clarkson would have been cool if we got him instead of someone earlier on but he doesn't fit on this current roster at all. I dont see him getting bought out though anyways.

Who know what happens with Iggy but even the small chance he ends up here is still a bigger chance then Clarkson I think.

He is a more realistic buyout candidate over Clarkson

I hope so. I would be excited for a chance at Iguodala.

Why would Cavs do a stupid thing like that?

Clarkson is a bench player and has limitations, there is no shock in the Cavs doing a buy out, plus they have Sexton and Garland both of those guys do what Clarkson does but better.

So u think those 2 players who are in year 1 & year 2 are going to play 48/game?

This is IG you’re talking to lol and no IG that’s not a reason to buy out a contract. Clarkson is on a good deal.

Any reason why AD is renting a house in Bel Air? Is he leaving his options open?

That is weird.

I saw AD say on TV he lived here in LA during the off-season.

Which presupposes he had a home here in LA.

Often times when celebs, rich people are renting it’s because they’re waiting for their dream home, or the renovations on their dream home to be complete. It’s possible something like that is going on here.

Probably a sign of bigger things to come, he did pick up a $7.5million place last year — with this rented place he’s not too far from LeBron’s (@Tigertail). Depending on how things go next summer he’ll probably decide to stay in the area permanently.

Usually when you rent something there is two reason. You cant afford to have your own home or you are waiting for something what you want. I am pretty sure first situations is not what is happening to AD. He is probably waiting for something he wants.

Would have preferred Giannis but cool. 2 way deal for Kostas.

No. Kills our chances of having any cap space in 2021 when Giannis among others are free agents.

The only way Kawhi opts out is if things go horribly wrong with the Clippers, he would be giving up Bird Rights.

Early Bird rights. If the cap goes up a decent amount, that's not a path to greatest earnings. A cap team (which could include the Lakers) would be.

No, he would have Early Bird Rights after 2 seasons, leaving then would cost his full Bird Rights after his third season. Lakers will be a cap team?

He is opting out after 2 years so there is no full Bird Rights.

He is? Doubtful.

Of course he’s opting out. He wants the ten year max money. That’s obvious.

If so then the Clippers will need the cap space to sign him. After 3 years they use his rights and keep everyone on the salary cap.

Nope. They can just use his early bird rights, as was previously stated. He’s a guaranteed opt out after two years barring something catastrophic happening and him needing to guarantee that third year money. The Clippers can then use his early bird rights to sign him to a 10 year 35% of the cap contract, or if he’s not happy with them, he can move to a team that has the space to offer him a 35% contract.

Nothing wrong with the hire...Bron likes him and he has a good relationship with several players and Kobe. Lots of experience on the staff

No, he could only get paid 130% of his salary with early Bird Rights, he needs 3 years for the 35% max.
