As long as we are 2, 3, 6, or 7th seed we have a chance at the title. These seeds don’t play GSW until West finals.
So hopefully GSW gets knocked out in the second round by a 4/5 seed, which will likely be OKC or Utah. _________________ Billions Billions Billions |

Before we were decimated by injuries last season, we were on a trajectory to win 45 games with our young guys in the Western Conference. Don't forget that we held one of the best records in the entire league after January before all of those injuries did us in. We beat the Rockets, Cavaliers, Celtics, 76ers. And even though we got swept by Golden State, we matched up well against the Warriors and played them tough every game, taking them to two games in overtime. There were at least five to ten games that we could have easily won. We admitted ourselves that we just didn't know how to win those close games at the end. We didn't have the vets who knew how to close out those types of close games.
Add the best player in the world, LeBron James, and veteran backups who have championship and deep playoff experience to our talented young core and we will take down those Warriors, whose window is starting to close quickly. It doesn't matter that they added DeMarcus Cousins.
Our Los Angeles Lakers are going to be the 2019 NBA Champions.
Book it! |
we had lopez randle lance IT to do all that. this year this team we are yet to see what kind of DNA it is. |

Everything would have to break right. 2 or 3 of Lonzo, Hart, Ingram, Kuzma break out to an all star caliber level. Our interior defense somehow becomes elite with LeBron/Beasley playing a lot of mins at the 5 (Seriously doubtful) _________________ "He's a Zen master, so he can speak to you, and he doesn't need a microphone; you can hear him in your head, 'Ron, don't shoot, don't shoot.' I do think we have a shot. We add a group of experienced players and our young players have grown another year. It really depends on how good Luke is. He has proven nothing in the playoffs yet. |

No doubt
All it will take is one injury (even a minor one) to Klay, Curry, KD, Harden, PG13, CP3, or Westbrook
You have to believe you can win
Kobe believed every single year he was in the league
As did Magic
As does Lebron
That’s what separates the good from the great
Lebron went to the finals with friggen Clarkson Nance Love and JR Smith
Golden state has no bench
Their salary cap is tied up in 4 players
1 through 10 Lakers are way better |

Lakers have legit shot at winning title this year for 2 reasons. We have plenty of play makers and defenders. Hard for warriors to make outside shots when being hounded defensively. |

I look at this roster and it looks better then the Pau/Kobe Lakers, we have more depth, more talent and more versatility, if everything goes right we can be contending until LeBron is at his absolute decline at 40. |

lol [AT] posts.
GSW were pretty injured last season and they still won it. Also, they are at least 6 deep with Iguodala and Livingston. |

they are nearly non-factors at this point....I would take multiple guys on our bench over both of them beginning with Kuz and Hart. |

It's funny how the media just sees the "Suicide Squad" and they don't see BI, Kuzma, Lonzo, and Hart as in the same league as Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Jaylon Brown. No predictions in the past as I am the eternal "Laker" optimist but I see an incredible season for the Lakers this year. Gut feeling! _________________ Do you believe it now, Trinity? - Morpheous |

We added the necessary veterans. The young core have to produce like star players. I think it happens and I believe we have best bench in NBA. |

Every team does have a chance no matter how slim those chances are, there is still a chance.

Wrong. Every team has a chance, it’s just very, very small for some teams, and much bigger for others.
The only teams that do not have a chance, are those who are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. | incorrect. every team does not have a chance.
if the gstate warriors all disappeared out of thin air. the current clippers still wouldnt have the talent to defeat the other top teams in a 4 games series.
if all those top good players disappeared in a snow storm. then the clippers could have a chance to win. but they probably wont take the chance because they are trying to win the lottery and get a high pick. competing forces. There is no chance for a lot of these teams. and some of them have zero chance by choice. |

The Dubs are about to form Voltron.
We are still looking for our second Jaeger pilot.
I’d say our chances are pretty slim this year. |

On rare occasions we see lightning in a bottle. 46 years ago, we saw the only undefeated Super Bowl champion, and a 33 game NBA win streak. No one foresaw that mostly ordinary guys had the ability, and were about to do something very special. If you'd have predicted it in advance you'd be called a fool who drinks kool aid.
Other than Wilt (35) or West (33), the Lakers featured a specialist or 2 in scoring, defense, and rebounding, but few today remember NBA careers of rotation players Flynn Robinson, Leroy Ellis, John Trapp, Keith Erickson, or Pat Riley. That team defended well, rebounded, passed, and ran.
Those Dolphins weren't built with all time greats, but instead had good chemistry, just like the Lakers did.
This year, multiple players and groups of Lakers can excel at every aspect of the game, and all it takes to make this year special is proper chemistry and good coaching. No other team is balanced with the abundance of talent (combined with length) the Lakers have at, imo, every position. They should be able to dominate both ends of the court, the running game, second units, and be sufficiently competitive on the boards.
We are about to witness something very special, not from an all star team, but a specially assembled roster. I can't recall one this deep.
