I realize most of people believe there's no chance this season, but I'm looking for who believes there is a possibility that this team could win a ring in 18/19.
I believe Hart, Kuzma, and Ingram will be far better than they're all given credit for and will make Zo's, LeBron's, and Rondo's job a lot easier. I anticipate other x factors in Zubac, Wagner, or other role player(s) (Svi?)
The bench should be dominating.
The defense should be very good and able to switch everything effectively when the right guys are on the floor in the end.
They may not win it all....but I believe they could.

If they do win, I expect people to say later: "Who thought this team could win? No one could have seen this coming." |

Possible? Sure. If everything clicks just right, and if injuries or upsets clear a path in the playoffs, it could happen. |

Definitely a good chance if Curry or Durant gets hurt. I think the Lakers are the 2nd best team in the West. |

Same as AH's post. Not without several preconditions outside of their control. They'll make the playoffs, though. Maybe 6th seed. People automatically think the West is prohibitive, but there's a ton of dreck in the NBA. Last year's team lost games to the worst teams in the league, bottom rung 7-10th place types, and close games against good teams like the debacle in HOU on 12/31. Bron's presence gives us a shot at taking care of all the bad teams, many of the teams like Porty who could beat us with one guy (Lillard) scoring 40, and at least some of the tough ones (top 3 closer if not THE top guy). We have a lot of room to expand on that 35 that came from kids who still horseplay and goof around. I expect a lot of that to be metered this year by Bron, btw. He's a little bit easygoing too, but he's not gonna be impressed with Lonzo dancing like an idiot and crap like that. Don't bring it into the facility. Bron himself has responsibility in this ongoing cultural makeover. _________________ GOAT MAGIC REEL

we talking about a chance like as in a 5% chance or are we talking about a chance as in a good chance like 30%-40%? |

I think the odds of a title this year are less than probable but more than remote. |

Major injuries strike the best teams while we play to our potential with Lebron leading the way, anything can happen. |

I think it would require something like that. Plus some sort of late season coming together of the team, when they were firing all cylinders at the right time. |

Tough to predict they win it all this year. IMO a really good team that will be much better then most outside LA expect and potentially a tough out come playoff time, but a multi playoff series run is difficult to imagine.
A lot of variables have to fall into place for this team. Health, player chemistry and development and complete unselfish player buy-in from day one to the Finals.
I am going to believe they can until I see the flaws hold them back.
Go Lakers! |

I have no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers will eliminate the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals and defeat the Celtics to win the NBA Championship THIS season (barring any major injuries to key players).
Before we were decimated by injuries last season, we were on a trajectory to win 45 games with our young guys in the Western Conference. Don't forget that we held one of the best records in the entire league after January before all of those injuries did us in. We beat the Rockets, Cavaliers, Celtics, 76ers. And even though we got swept by Golden State, we matched up well against the Warriors and played them tough every game, taking them to two games in overtime. There were at least five to ten games that we could have easily won. We admitted ourselves that we just didn't know how to win those close games at the end. We didn't have the vets who knew how to close out those types of close games.
Add the best player in the world, LeBron James, and veteran backups who have championship and deep playoff experience to our talented young core and we will take down those Warriors, whose window is starting to close quickly. It doesn't matter that they added DeMarcus Cousins.
Our Los Angeles Lakers are going to be the 2019 NBA Champions.

2 chances
Slim and none
(Hi Chick!)
I'm in the camp that isn't even sure playoffs.
But i do think in the west teams 3-11 might be separated by only maybe 4-6 games.
So maybe if we keep any losing streak to max 3 games and have a somewhat easy schedule to start the season first couple months as we figure out our lineups and minutes with all the new parts, we can be in the mix all season.
Thats what i'm expecting.
I'm also the kind of fan that doesn't want any players injured from other teams.
(Except maybe Draymond) |

Anything can happen, but this is the dream scenario imo. We would be banking on one of the young core guys performing like a top 10 player imo. That’s just how good GSW is...not impossible, but not realistic.
Add one more Max all star FA and I’m confident the Lakers take anyone out with another year of growth for Ball/Kuz/Ingram/Hart.
WCF is the ceiling this season imo (because Lebron and underrated core).
2020, Lakers are in the finals. |

Lol, I agree I don’t want any player injured, including Green, lol.
I do think LeBron is going to will us in, hopefully he’s not hurt

Every team has a chance. Some teams have more of a chance than others.
Our chance? Very very low. But there’s a chance. |
